I think its probably a far stretch but do you have any tutorials or any tips on how to make a battle system similar to yours? It looks great.

Multiple curves are great. Do you mean that you can define planes, surfaces, and any volumetric structures in general? What additional settings are there for scaling and rotating objects?

Caius how do you plan your systems and organize them for your game do you write them all on paper and how do you know they link to a different system, I was wondering because I wanna be organized and the systems to flow well

I'm gathering from these first few videos that this system is to allow developers to quickly iterate on modular characters, but it's not set up for players to customize their own characters?

Hello, your game looks amazing, and I've been following your devlogs for some time now, but could I ask you for a favor? Could you consider making a tutorial about your Turn Order widget? I'm also trying to develop a JRPG in Unreal, but I haven't been able to find anything that could help me create such a widget efficiently.

Looks cool, but I think the controls should more feel Like in the later ps1 final fantasys, so the camera sticks behind the vehicle, more like in a racing game so that the camera always adjust it self’s behind the vehicle

Absolutely my thing! I love JRPGS with overworld. Star Ocean 2, FF8/9, Tales of Vesperia etc. good job man, please keep it up! Cant wait to see landing, music changing, and a character walking around. Will you see enemies before encounters or is it all random based?
@CaiusNelson3 ай бұрын
So glad you like it! My plan right now is that enemies will spawn on the overworld around you, so you have time to avoid them if you want.
@coffeediction3 ай бұрын
@@CaiusNelson Ah nice, Tales of and SO style, very cool! I personally find the random encounters very dated and not feel as good as actually seeing enemies. Some battles are just not meant to be! Do you plan on creating a discord and building a community? Im a 3D artist myself for like 12 years now, and my goal one day to make something similar to star ocean in terms of setting, but I feel like its such a niche genre that there are just no people to talk about it and really hard to start. I hope one day you do and we can all gather :)

The map looks *sick,* the actual flying animation could be a bit smoother imo, it looks a bit too much on rails the way it move right now imo. Sorry I do not mean to offend but I thought I'd throw it out there at least, as someone who is in the game dev world as well :)

Dude, first time viewer here wanting to learn unreal engine and goood daaamn seems like you got a ton, I mean a TON of knowledge. Wow. Im sure you get this question a lot but where should one start? Love from austria!
@CaiusNelson4 ай бұрын
Ah, thanks a ton! Ask for where to start, honestly that's tough but my usual suggestion is just how I started. Just start looking up video tutorials for whatever type of game you want to make and follow them. For me it was RPGs. I like the ones @RyanLaley does. I find it easier to learn the ins and outs of an engine while actually using it. And while yeah you're not going to make anything AMAZING when you're starting out, you will learn a ton that way. Then as you learn the engine more and more, you'll find ways of doing things that work best for you.

WOW. I came here from UE marketplace. I've been dabbling in gamedev for a few years, built dozens of little systems and things as a hobby, but have never attempted to do make a complete game. In the last few months, I have decided to prototype out an idea I've had for some time now that is based on mid to late 90's jrpgs. Everything you've said in this video (except the story concept) has literally been exactly what I've been thinking for the last two months!!! I am looking forward to purchasing your products and digging deeper into your KZbin channel! *** Side note, I was playing Trails into Reverie as I was watch this video ***
