HI Katie, I love this pattern and have watched your video several times. I also downloaded the pdf pattern. However the pattern omits the joining to the picot in the previous ring in the small ring cluster. Have you altered it since you wrote the instructions? Thank you for your brilliant tutorials.

I got a ring done and then a chain after the ring. Then I get lost on how to add on another ring after the chain. I am not sure how to hold the thread coming from the ball in which hand. Do you have a video showing step by step on how to add on more rings and chains and in which hand to place the thread so it is in the proper position to continue on? This is so confusing.

I love these vids. Great little project. I've literally just started practicing stitches and am having trouble finding tutorials for needles on KZbin so please keep them coming. They're perfect 😊👍 Cheers from Australia.

This video was a nice find for me. I’ve been curious about it for some time. Utube wasn’t around and I forgot about it. My aunt had a friend who was blind and she sat tatting and talking a mile a minute but I could not figure out her hand movements and was too shy to ask. She was so quick🎉 to

1 Tb.=3 ts. = 3 1/2 Ts. Love the dye. I have a project, I need pink and only have white thread. Thanks! Just did not work with cotton polyester (?) thread, I'd tried in the past with curtains, the thread stayed white color and the cloth dyed the new color. What to do to make it color fast, suppose to launder it before using. Remembering towels that bleed the first washing.

I absolutely love this pattern for handkerchiefs and use it often but I have found that after the chains I do have to tie because I find that while working the ring my chains loosen up and lose the firmness I want. Thank you for the pattern and tutorial.

What does it mean when it said opposite? Does it mean turn or reverse work? Thank you Katie.😊

What I have problems with in reading diagrams is knowing when to reverse your work and when not to reverse. Anyone who can help me with that?

Never tried this before, but looks fairly easy. But as you're showing this on camera so fast, it's very hard to tell what you're doing, cause your camera keeps going out of focus.

I would love if you could revisit this and talk about onion rings, floating rings, loop tatted rings, and lock joins to start. And of course all things having to do with a double shuttle pattern.

I used a zippered money pouch bank bag that you get in the office supply section at the store. It was a little big bigger than a pencil pouch, but similar concept. I loved it because everything was contained in a small grab & go bag. Kept things clean too.

I am learning this art now, thank you for your channel. I hope you'll post more videos. They are amazing. Youre a great tracher. Thank you❤ If you put a sheet of papper under it will be easy to see the black, My eyes start to get bad, and that is what I use for to put the thread on the needle, other wise I couldnt see the little hole 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I had high hopes for this video but got lost with special step.
@RustiKate Жыл бұрын
Sorry if you were disappointed. You definitely don't have to do the special step, it is purely done to help the finished work lay smoother and be stronger. It can definitely be skipped.

Is there a way to make detachable edging? I'd like to try it for some tops
@RustiKate Жыл бұрын
Yes, definitely! Just simply skip the step where I say to "attach" and simply finish each ring and/or chain with out connecting them to the fabric. This is actually the traditional method. Typically vintage tatting is made separately and then sewn onto fabric afterwards.

Have you figure this out ok? It can be tricky figuring out how many shuttles are needed at times and often needle tatting instructions are very brief.
@bessiephillips6913 Жыл бұрын
I couldn't figure out how to close the set of rings until you showed to reverse the last join. I couldn't tell if using the hook, do you still reverse to get it to lay flat and ending with the stitches in the right direction? Thank you! Still trying to learn and figure it out!

I'm new at tatting and your videos have taught me so much!. My only problem is when I complete a chain and then do a ring and close it, the chain always seems to turn at the intersection of the ring. I do the special step but I don't understand what I'm doing wrong!

Have you watched the video on reversing work (Rw)? This sounds like maybe what's going on. I know it was a struggle for me until I really came to understand it. Here is a link. Hope that helps! kzbin.info/www/bejne/qWq8kHmpqr6mbNE

Can one needle tat using two needles and two colors?
@RustiKate Жыл бұрын
You can definitely tat with two colors on two needles. But can also tat two colors using one needle. It just requires specific techniques.
