Adam fans from the American Idol message board will remember that after this performance, while we were all gushing about how amazing it was, THE Smokey Robinson posted in Adam's forum congratulating him for a great performance. The mods then quickly deleted his comment so as not to show favoritism (he hadn't posted in any other contestants' forum). Good times, lol.

Adam had been working his tail off trying to get a record deal. I think he was working on Broadway's 'Wicked," when he decided to tryout for 'American Idol.' Paula even said that she was surprised that he wasn't snatched up yet. His audition was a Michael Jackson song and the judges asked him to sing a 2nd song, which was 'Bohemian Rhapsody.'

What a gift Smokey Robinson is. No one compares to his gifted musical writing abilities. Not only that, he was all about giving songs to this person or that group, not keeping all together to himself, knowing how much more brilliantly some of his songs would be sung from others. A standing ovation to Smokey Robinson. Thank you for the music!!❤️

I dont understand why I always see comments on videos of Adam where they say Simon was always mean to him and stuff during American Idol. They must not have watched the season because Simon mostly gave him good comments and said here that he was a star, this was top 10 week so Simon knew well before the end of the competition that his initial judgment was wrong. Wish people would stop spreading information, Simon was pretty supportive overall of Adam and always had nice things to say on the live shows, aside from Ring Of Fire lol

Great example of a good singer weakening a song by over singing in an an attempt to show. “ technical ability”… ok ..technique +1… ruining a pretty ballad -2.
