The big problem now is it's super hard to get one's hands on this beginner box!

The game is a mess now. There's self control with the devs working on this game. They literally make extra turn cards with every new set. They're also quite predatory these days. They can kiss my ass.

Thank you, Chaz. I saw this at Origins this weekend and was tempted, even with the big price tag. While I’m happy you like it, your review has helped me understand that it’s not the game for me. Keep up the good work!

Any game with asymmetry and a community has a meta. I've won and lost games of TI4 because no-one else at the table were willing to pressure the Mecatol player. The pick order of Puerto Rico is infamously an area with a meta. Infamous because some jerks get quite upset if you don't pick the "correct" role.

As a 40k fan, this would be a pretty good box to get my hands on. After playing mechwarrior online my personal favourites are the catapult and the raven. Recently also fell in love with the timber wolf and strangely enough the linebacker. Going off that, this core box and the clan invasion box would be ideal for me. Whole new rule set, whole new universe, whole host of new models to paint and mess around with. Customisation of the models is basically non existent but that's not the worst thing in the world when pretty everything is standardised for simplicity of production though I thing you can get different load outs but requires completely different model

We did not experience the downtime you mention. In fact some full days were complete in less than ten minutes. What we did struggle with was the complexities of the rules and the 48-page rulebook not including everything. Much you had to draw a conclusion with on the cards and certain words used on the cards which referred to words on other cards. We enjoyed playing the game, as far as we got (Turn 8) and I hope we get it to the table again, when I think it will run a lot more smoothly. I still have not figured out the ways the plots work.

I saw another video of yours where you recommended Imhotep. I bought it, played it and loved it. When I look for games I usually see what is it about and this is the first filter. There are themes I do not like or things I consider boring. Imhotep passed. As it was among the best I knew it had to be at least interesting. Thanks a lot. You brought joy here. Things in life come and go and what goes around comes around. Expect good things for what you have done to me.

I'm all for horizontal simply because I don't want to deal with jumbled up pieces. Also I can't be bothered repacking all of my games into clip bags and whatnot. I always try and put heavier games under lighter ones to reduce stress on the boxes.

I'm currently in the process of designing and printing my own magnetic hex system! Except... It's ALL built to exactly 1:285 scale... with a fully modular terrain/building system built in! All terrain is built @ 20mm tall, meaning a level 2 terrain, would sit 40mm tall, or 11.4m in a 1:1 scale, which seemed about perfect for BattleTech in my opinion! Magnet polarities aren't actually an issue when you're working with Hexes :D

I'm tired of these kinds of people because they're unwilling to open others to such games. Players like this do a great job of turning off new players to gaming. I got out of Battletech for a looooooong time after several experiences with a-hole players and don't get me started on the jaded crowd at the catalyst forums. They're the ones that turned me off to Battletech for a few years until the kickstarter. But I see *nothing* has changed as the mods on the Catalyst forums as the same cherry-picked crowd of jerks that picked me to s*** on. Screw them but not the game.

When I got into Magic my buddy told me " dude you can play however you want" which was the most exciting thing I had ever heard. Made me start to think of myself as a mage collecting knowledge and spells throughout my travels. My first planeswalker was Nissa because of that I started to build off her and made a green deck. And I got Ajani so I made a green white deck. Got gud enough I started to go to standard tournaments or so I thought. Ever since I have been on a one man quest to defeat blue. At one tournament I heard a dude scream " does anyone play creatures anymore" cause all everyone did was counter and netdeck. It didn't take long for me to realize that you either play blue or you are trying to beat it. The color can do everything. And modern is far worse. At this point I am convinced people that play blue and use infinite combos bs were the kids growing up the used Bison on street fighter turbo and just did the same move all day flying across the screen. Or the kid that like to pick on people but cried and would tell on you if you fought back in anyway. I often wonder what these cheap mechanic decks look like when they play each other. A mill vs a mill or infinite loop vs infinite loop just a bunch of douchebags waiting to counter a creature neither intend to out right cast with mana if they even have one in their decks. Now everyone playing commander. Only a matter of time before blue breaks that.

Locust 1V alone is very fragile and poorly armed, its only advantage is speed and the fact that it cannot overheat, so you never worry about heat. But when you add your Locust to a lance in a non flat terrain, you may want a Locust to attack the Awesome 8Q. Try to isolate the Awesome, place your Locust in the left arc, 2 hexagons away from the Awesome, and this giant will suffer death by a thousand mosquito bites.

Oh My Cabbages is apparently a game now... And Uncle Iroh's Dream is coming... Why don't they make something epic... The target Audience for the show originally are now all like in their late 20s or early 30s now.

I think Avatar could make a great game similar to War of The Ring. Though it would need to be a bit different. You'd have to find the teachers while hiding from the Fire Nation similar to the Fellow's hiding from the Nazgul. Then take out the Fire Lord. You could also work in the solar eclipse and the comet. If you make it very asymmetrical you could add in Zuko as a third side whose side can change over time. Capture the Avatar early to win by reclaiming your honour, later on he swaps and joins team Avatar to fight the fire Lord... The balance for that though would be tough lol. You'd have to do something to get the difference Tribes into the war. North and South Water Tribe. Earth Kingdom would have to have Ba Sing Se separately tracked to other cities.

The day I quit magic wasn't due to how fast my opponent beat me; but rather that he got an artifact in play which Cyphered counter spell... By turn four he got a woe bringer demon out. Yeah, I COULD have played on for another 3 turns, but why? That's an unwinnable situation unless you are prepared with artifact removal or counter proof or hexproof...
