Hi, I just saw your video. What do you call the hose going to the high volume pump? You mentioned getting it from harbor freight… but I can’t seem to find it. Can you please give me a link? Or give me a name so I can look for it in amazon. Thanks.

Just what I’m looking for. All the other SUP inflators are ridiculously expensive ($100+) and require the 12v adapter. I’m already a Ryobi tool collector so have batteries and plenty of other uses for an inflator like this. The adapter info makes this perfect. Thanks.
@cameranmanner4701
@cameranmanner4701 2 жыл бұрын
that's some what true about the cost. Only if you are invested in ryobi platform If not, the inflator plus battery and charger cost more then a SUP inflator.

Great informational video. I am contemplating purchasing that compressor. How long does it take to pump it to your desired pressure. Also, do you have turn off a couple of times to cool it down while inflating. Thanks in advance!
@danzvidz28801
@danzvidz28801 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Another commenter noted this compressor has a duty cycle of about 10 minutes, after which you're supposed to let it cool before continuing use. That commenter recommended Dewalt's version instead, but I haven't tried it yet. Most times I would use the high volume side to get it minimally inflated, then it would take about a minute per psi to get the board firm with the high pressure side.
@cameranmanner4701
@cameranmanner4701 2 жыл бұрын
I think it's actually faster if you just run the high volume portion and hand pump the rest.

Can it deflate using the high psi end?
@danzvidz28801
@danzvidz28801 3 жыл бұрын
You shouldn't need to. To deflate a halkey-roberts valve, press in on the stem, then turn slightly, and it will lock in the open position (so you don't have to hold it the whole time). You can use the low pressure hose to suck the last of the air out by switching the hose over to the exhaust port of the blower and it will help get that air out so you can roll up and stow. Don't store long term rolled up if you can help it, but in a cool dry place, inflated, but with minimal pressure.

how quickly does this unit inflate your sup to 15-18psi?
@danzvidz28801
@danzvidz28801 4 жыл бұрын
It's not as fast as a purpose made SUP Inflator. I'd say about 5 minutes with the low pressure/high volume hose, then about 10-15 with the shraeder adapter on the high pressure hose. On the upside you won't be too tired to paddle, like if you pumped it up by hand.

Thanks for the great vid. I have exact inflator to pump my isup. Using high volume side which takes almost no time at all, then switch to high pressure. Initially it takes about 10 to 15min. But after a few more sessions, it took longer and longer to pump. Realised that this pump has a duty cycle of 10min, which when not adhered to, the pump performance deteriorates rapidly. Will get the DeWalt when this Ryobi dies.

Not in love with the idea of having a line running from your cam at your crotch to the front of the boat that cannot be quickly undone. Seems like an entanglement hazard. Maybe if you ran the line through a small pvc pipe through the saddle and bow pillar. Good idea! But I think I'll stick with keeping my releases separate from my skirt.
