It started small, but I guess I had a lot to say... Sorry. I only watched Heartstopper for the first time on September 2024 (and since then, I am obsessed with the cast, and all of Alice Oseman’s creations) so unfortunately I wasn’t aware of the fire that was eating at Kit Connor. It took a lot of scrolling for me to reach those stories. And every SINGLE time I read about this, I sob. It makes me physically ill to hear that all this sh!t came from a community that I enjoy being a part of. As a queer person I too face so much cr@p but I have yet to meet a queer person (personally) that makes me feel wrong about myself. (Specifically about my identity as bi or pan - coz I am not sure to this day which am I. Obviously there are some bad things queer and not queer people have said or did to me that have nothing to do with queerness) I can’t imagine my life if I had to face not only my own family and country being against me but also my loving community questioning me about who I am. I probably would not be writing this. I still love the queer, and heartstopper communities and know full well that they are full with good people. I just hope no one has to suffer such cruelty, from their own community no less, FFS! That is... I Hope Kit, and the rest of the cast members still consider us part of ‘their community’. I am crying (really... right now) thinking that Kit or any of them might have some resentment after what happened I absolutely adore and love the amazing creation of Alice Oseman and the breath taking cast, revealing their sensational talents. It would make me feel so bad if Kit Connor didn’t feel like he had all of us at his back. Or even resenting us as a community. I hope we prove him and everyone else that we are what I hope - a loving and supportive community (ik... cringe.. deal with it)
