God, I love the conversation these music giants are having. Freedie Hubbard had such a melodious voice---and he cracked me up with that description about how women would react to listening to Miles play.

I remember in the late 80s Adam was working at Goodman Music in North Hollywood. Greg Philinganes came into the store and Adam was trying to cop Greg’s diminished scale licks. It was shortly after that he got the call from Miles

Spacing was just as important as the notations. Miles was one hep cat.

What's the positive and negative on weed? Any experience? I'd guess you'd probably forget the standards? I can totally attest that your technique goes away with alcohol. Intonation bye bye.

Miles could resolve any note. He didn't believe in "wrong notes" He could play outside & then resolve it effortlessly. He always landed on his feet. A young Herbie played an entirely incorrect chord live once & Miles literally resolved it on the spot & didn't miss a beat. He was a magician that way. He had mastered dissonance & playing outside better than anyone else. ("Don't play the butter notes" - Miles Davis)

The difference between Miles & everybody else is that you can put on Miles when in the company of a woman & they'll get it. No matter the race or music tastes. Even if they aren't into jazz. I discovered this in my 20s & have tested it repeatedly over the years. His playing has a romantic tone to it...The Ladies can really hear him.

20:23 I feel what he saying. Though the chords helps the note… miles played the note that no one played. You would’ve thought it was just luck. But as I listen to his songs he just has those “fit ems” lol thanks for sharing

It's worth mentioning that talking about mood of "Kind of Blue" and right way and right people to play it, Bill Evans is never mentioned by this distinguished group of Black musicians, yet the whole concept of "Kind of Blue" came from him and, at the time, he was one the few musicians able to play modal jazz and was one of the originators of that style.

He was such a talent. But to be honest, Joey is really struggling to even breathe here, listen to it. He could be alive today if he'd drop the weight much earlier. By the time he lost some weight, the damage to his heart was already done. We keep losing these people due to stupid shit like that.

Miles loved Foley, Miles loved and respected Foley's youthful spark that came out in his playing...Honesty. I heard Miles lament that he did not find Foley earlier, because Miles looked and listened to many guitar players to find the right feel and sound that Floey has.

Love this guy, seen him many times with Miles. Like he said, I noticed often how Miles played a particular note for any of his musician play a solo.!! Like he did with Benny Rietvelt playing “Me and U” in Munich in 88, great base solo! I miss those years seeing all these amazing musicians live, as much they miss playing with Miles!
