Get some Hornady 240 grain XTP bullets with the green sabots, shìtcan the pellets, and start experimenting with loose powder loads from 70 to 120 grains and you will find an accurate reliable load for hunting.

Yeah if you want a full bore diameter muzzleloader bullet I would say Thor lightning bullets are your best bet they work amazing. But to be fair the only powerbelt bullet that has worked for me successfully is their ELR bullet that works just fine and it drops them in their tracks. That being said I only use the powerbelt ELR bullet in my 45 Cal muzzleloader because they're the only full bore diameter bullets available in 45 Cal that I am aware of. But I did talk to Thor bullets and they said they're working on getting a 45 Cal produced it's just taking a long time. They said that they should have more information on it by 2025 at the latest so I'm excited for that.

@EveryonesOutdoors5 ай бұрын
I have never used them, I’ve been having great success with the federal BOR lock! I do think the SSTs would be worth a try if you are just trying to see what works best for you. What type of muzzleloader are you using ? Let me know how they perform if you do try them out.

@EveryonesOutdoors little update I shot both and they are great, I hunt public land in louisiana and will not shoot passed 50yd, so I will be using the federal ammo with 100gr 777 , I'm shooting a 23 year old CVA hunterbolt magnum my uncle gave me

So I do agree about not much for penetration out of the arrow tips I just shot the biggest buck of my life last weekend with a 300 grain power belt aerotip and barely made it past the front shoulder no exit hole and barely any blood it killed a deer and I found him the next morning but no thanks for the blood trail and that was at 20 yds and I use 150 grains of powder 3 pellets what you think would be plenty of stopping power I'll probably stop using the arrow tips but I shot a double a few years ago with the power belt platinums 295 grain and that blew right through complete pass through she only went 20 yards so I may go back to those cuz the platinums do shoot better with 150 grains but the Platinum will most likely be the only power belt bullet I use if I use them again

Wonder if I cast a few linotype lead bullets for the ole guy. He’d trade those “terrible” “shit fuck” Powerbelt rounds he hates so much? All kidding aside, I get it they’re not bonded, but a little forethought on your part and you would have discovered on their website….. these don’t penetrate like a hard cast 458 Lott😂

Thanks for the comment! I think the aero tips are the biggest issue, they do group well and will kill deer I just think the copper federals are better. JMO

Only use only two pellets of the White Hots. It says on the side of the box. Two pellets equals 150 grains.

An inline scooped muzzleloader is an abomination. If you use one, you are a sissy of the first magnitude. You need that crutch to make a kill. The kill is far more important to you than the hunt. You use retail camo, deer attracting scent, and you shoot with a rest from a tree stand. Your ego demands you make that kill and you measure your success by the animal's antlers, which you can't eat. You would not hunt at all if others didn't know what you kill. I know, I know, it's legal. If it were legal you would shoot your "trophy" if it were chained to a post. You must make that kill. The only reason you even use a muzzleloader is the extra season, which you wish permitted the use of your 338Magnum whereby you might kill at 500 yards from your tv and heater equipped tree house. Get a flint lock reproduction of an actual muzzleloader. No? Too much trouble? Chances of a kill to low? You might not be able to take photos of you and your kill? Might not get antlers big enough to fit your ego, one that you can mount and further feed that massive ego by showing and impressing your loser friends? Me? I'm 75. Never have I killed an animal with anything but a long bow and arrows I made myself, or a flintflock rifle representing the real meat hunters that existed before sissies walked into the woods.

I have the CVA Wolf. The owners manual recommended power belts and there was a coupon. I've been using the 250 grain hollow points every deer I have shot died and was recovered I did have one run about 100 yards. They have always passed through the deer for me. I used 90 grains of loose XXX always. I quit buying them because the price is ridiculous. I started molding my own Muzzleloader bullets. This season will be my first season using my own bullets. Wish me luck

If you want to see your projectile pass-through hollow points aren’t a good starting point, bullet is designed for expansion not penetration It’s a blender not a laser 👍 and that wolf barrel will always rust it’s 460 stainless steel 🤔

I have developed a new cartridge for muzzleloading rifles which is loaded from the muzzle but ejects itself from the barrel after use and is non-corrosive. This product sets a new standard in safety and reliability for muzzleloader ammunition in the same way shotgun shells are standardized for use in shotguns. Shotshells have a load of shot and powder which produce a safe pressure in shotguns manufactured by many different companies. The pressure produced by this cartridge can be designed to work safely in the muzzleloaders produced by the various manufacturers. It would also greatly help new muzzleloader shooters with safety, and it would also give them a product which will not destroy the barrel of their muzzleloader due to corrosive residue. Those who say smokeless powder cannot be used in a muzzleloader may not know “Blackhorn 209” is 83% smokeless powder, based on the MSD sheet for the product. Therefore, the claim that smokeless powder cannot be used safely in a muzzleloader falls apart very quickly. This cartridge could also be loaded with BH209 or a similar formulation in states which do not allow "smokeless" powder during muzzleloader season, in the same way the breechloading "Firestick" cartridge is now used in the "Nitrofire" muzzleloader. This would be a "Muzzlestick" cartridge which would work in thousands of other modern muzzleloaders, which cannot use the "Firestick" cartridge. This cartridge can also be removed from inline muzzleloaders by removing the breechplug. I am now looking for a company willing to mass produce this new cartridge for the market. I would greatly appreciate it if you would pass this information along to those you know who may be interested in this new product. A link is found below which demonstrates this new product. I use power belts and I've never had a complete pass through, next to no blood trail, i think there super accurate, easy to load, on the hole I've killed and found every deer I've shot with power belt, but I also think they could improve the design
