Old clip but still appreciated. Did you experience any grip difference or other between Michelin Pilot Road 4 and Dunlop Roadsmart 3?

Both tires were safe and secure at any speed and condition I dared to venture out in. The Dunlops offer substantial advantages in longevity and price with no noticeable performance drop off.

Yes. They're wearing evenly so far with the IIIs. The IIIs are still available at a lower price, so if longevity and low cost is your game, nothing wrong with getting IIIs again.

Nice, well thought out review. My only wish was a comparison of your stock exhaust to the new, which would help ground myself on microphone quality as I relate the stock sound to my own stock R1200RT LC. I 100% agree with your description of the RT exhaust sound as “utilitarian”. Ha! I like the fact that with the stock exhaust I do not “announce” myself to police running radar long before I become visible. However, I do wish it sounded just a little more like my Termignoni-equipped Desmo. But alas…. Anyway, I am now subscribed! Thank you for the review!

Thanks. I'll note that I've owned an R1250GS and now an R1250RT to replace the blue R1200RT in this video, and although it's only a tiny bump in displacement, the 1250 SOUNDS much more aggressive than the 1200 - much better tonal quality, and less of a drone. Even in stock form (which is how I leave my RTs.) For the GS, I tested a J&H pipe shown here. As of the moment, such a pipe is not available in the USA for the RT. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eX7NgGmVjdWJfbc

@MotoMouthMoshe Thank you! Do you notice much difference from stock? I don't hear a large difference in the Dominator video where they rev each style. I'd be interested to hear it under load. There is a guy on You Tube that shows his SC Project while riding and it sounds great with baffle in and out. I'm almost sold on this though, in Titanium.

Ah, I read the description, thank you.
@MotoMouthMoshe4 ай бұрын
@@user-vf7gp1hr9c I think it's fine. I don't think loud pipes are appropriate on RTs - that's not the character of this bike. It has a more aggressive tone, with more bass, and some nice crackling on downshifts. I wouldn't want it any louder than this, and it's a nice change from the more subdued stock sound IMO. Considering the price, you can't really beat it. Normally RT pipes like Remus and Akro are over $1000.

The best upgrade I gave to my 2018 GSA, often touring in Austrian Alps, where the police is very keen and enforce excessive exhaust noise, , I could adjust at my pleasure, and enjoy the throaty sound and burps/farts up and downshifting while maintaining a very low profile less intrusive while riding into small Tyrolean villages, do strongly suggest the upgrade, BTW the exhaust come with an EU certificate of approval in digital and card format that can be shown to whoever will be challenging the installation, apart that on my triple black the black finish with carbon fiber and milled steel tip end looks really fancy!

This is such a great video. On my CV44 carburetor, my only problem seems to be that its a bit more of a challenge to get the air fuel mixture screw adjusted right. The Yost emulsion tube appears to have a negative effect on being able to accurately find the sweet spot for it. I actually dropped from the recommended 45 pilot all the way down to a 42 pilot and set my screw to 2-3/4 turns out from a gently seated position (Blue needle middle clip). It seems to like it there. My motor is a big bore 113" Ultima El Bruto and I'm shocked to see that it even runs with a 42 pilot jet! If it didn't have the Yost kit installed there's NO WAY it would. I might try to swing by a local garage to see if they'd be willing to stick a sensor up my exhaust pipe and see what kind of reading they get. If im close to 14.7 afr I'll be happy. The bike pulls like a freight train and plugs are on the lean side but as everyone knows Evos run STRONG in a lean condition. It's also been a challenge getting this carburetor dialed in due to a change of the seasons up north. As temperatures increase so does the humidity which causes motors to run on the richer side. Thank God it's been in the 70s-80s. That's allowed me to get it in tune and I can finally stop tinkering with this thing and RIDE IT!! Sorry for the longest post ever but I consider myself a master tuner of CV's and I'm 100% convinced a Yost kit is the best thing since the invention of the bread slicer and toaster, LOVE IT!!! 👍🏼🇺🇸
