This idea is very intuitive. My concern is this: All US made pickups (Duncan, Dimarzio, etc.) have imperial threads. What is recommended for those screws whose threads are metric?
@frtlzr_official2 ай бұрын
@@alexdeleon7135 The humbucker adapter is designed to be compatible with screws from Seymour Duncan, Dimarzio, and other pickups with imperial threads, so you shouldn't have any issues using it with imperial threads. Additionally the adapter fits screws with a maximum diameter of 3 mm. In this case you just need to apply a bit of pressure when fitting the screw.

WTF! you had to sand down the frets?? Are you for real? So here’s what will happen to most of you that buy this, new and better pickups say €250 a luthier another god only knows how much add it all together and you total a fender cost by not much. On the other hand for €445 + 250 + luthier about same as a fender MN but your pick ups is what will make this guitar so amazing. It’s a 50/50 really.

@@mg5672 Hello! High frets can occur with many guitars and are quite common, especially in models under the 1000 euro price range. This issue is usually resolved with a bit of fret leveling and polishing. Rest assured, the overall quality of this guitar is very good for the price, and the pickups deliver a decent sound. As always sound is a very subjective thing. We appreciate your feedback and are here to assist with any further concerns you may have.

Fenders like Gibson are so over priced and rated it's criminal , materials and quality control over the years have gone downhill , just trading on their names. I've had 2 Starts and a Les Paul with terrible fret work and finishing issues. I'm not defending Harley Benton but for the money they are damn hard to beat. If you want top quality best bet is to have one made by a known luthier to order.

No fret crowning after leveling? 🤔
@frtlzr_official4 ай бұрын
great question! In this case, fret crowning wasn't necessary because the Fretshaper only removed a small amount of material from the fret, and the round shape remained after fret polishing. However, if the fret crown is flattened after spot leveling and the flat surface is wider than approximately 1mm, then crowning could be a good idea to restore the proper shape. Thanks for watching!

Not good. I don't care how fancy the guitar is, but frets being level is number one essential. You shouldn't have to have fret work done on a new guitar, paying a luthier. That makes the guitar more expensive. Get your act together Harley Benton!
@gearViewmirror4 ай бұрын
I'm pretty sure this video is for people who can do the work themselves. It's not that hard and saves you the money for a luthier. After all these are guitars which would be at least 1000.- from any other brand and i have encountered all of these issues in that price range too. I play guitars way more that i have worked on myself! Tip for frets: before you start filing them, give them a tap with the nylon hammer, sometimes it is enough to seat them properly and the rocking dissapears....🎸🤘🏼🎸
@frtlzr_official4 ай бұрын
Hey @petersmith143 and @gearViewmirror, thanks for your input! @petersmith143, I understand your frustration. It’s true that level frets are essential for a guitar's playability. However, high frets can occur even on guitars costing well over 1000 euros. The video aims to help those who might encounter this issue by showing them how to fix it themselves, saving the cost and time of taking it to a luthier. @gearViewmirror, you’re spot on! This video is indeed for those who are comfortable doing their own adjustments. Your tip about tapping the frets with a nylon hammer is excellent and can definitely help in some cases. For anyone else watching, if you're experiencing similar issues with your guitar, give these DIY methods a try. It might seem daunting at first, but it can be a rewarding experience and save you some money in the long run. Happy playing 😎

There is no such thing as a perfectly leveled frets, not even a plek custom shop Gibson Les Paul have perfect frets. Guitar necks are made of wood, and it’s physically impossible for a piece of wood to be perfectly flat or being a straight condition forever, you got to live with it.
@frtlzr_official4 ай бұрын
@@serspeny1237 you make a great point! Achieving perfectly leveled frets is a challenge for any guitar, even high-end models. Since guitar necks are made of wood, they are prone to changes due to temperature and humidity. Some materials are less likely to change a lot over time like roasted maple or e.g. carbon reinforced necks. Nevetheless these changes can cause the wood to expand or contract, which can lead to shifts in the fretboard and can make the frets uneven over time. This is why regular maintenance and occasional fretwork are important to keep any guitar in top playing condition. Thanks for sharing your insights!
@Joe-mz6dc4 ай бұрын
I've read all of the comments and as much as I want to respect everyone's thoughts Peter is correct. You should not have to do a lot of fret dressing on a new guitar. It's absurd. A little bit perhaps but it's a quality control issue if you receive a guitar with pronounced fret height issues.

Does this lower the frets?
@frtlzr_official4 ай бұрын
Thank you for your question! The FRTLZR® Fret Polishing Kit includes various grits for different levels of polishing. While the finer grits (like 1500 and above) are designed for smooth polishing and won't significantly reduce fret height, the 400 grit can indeed remove a small amount of material from the frets. This is useful for eliminating deeper scratches and oxidation but should be used sparingly to avoid lowering the frets too much. For regular maintenance and to ensure you don't remove too much material, it's best to start with a higher grit like 1500 or 3000 and only use the 400 grit when necessary for more stubborn blemishes. Always follow up with finer grits to smooth and polish the fret surface. For more details, you can visit frtlzr.com Hope this helps, and happy playing!

If I don't use "FRTLZR Fertilizer" on my frets, will that reduce sprout?
@das2502506 ай бұрын
2 things : a- you should hammer the fret with a soft mallet first and remeasure as many frets lift. Sanding them just leaves a loose fret which deadens the string . b. Often assess the fret by placing the fret edge over more than 3 frets to get an idea which frets are highest as well as just the 3 fret method. A higher fret can mask another neighboring high fret .

A suggestion for people who are nervous of working on their guitar. There are plenty of guitars on Amazon that are $99 or so. I guarantee they will come with crazy frets. You can practice on the inexpensive guitar before working on your good guitar. You can fix them up and learn to do a complete setup. They can be made to play nice. When you are done, give it to a school or a kid in the neighborhood.

What if there is a low 11th fret causing buzzing at the 12th fret?🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
@frtlzr_official7 ай бұрын
If the 11th fret is lower than the others and causing buzzing on the 12th, you might need to level the frets. Using a fret rocker to confirm the fret's level can be helpful. If you're not experienced with fret work, it might be best to consult a professional luthier. If the 12th fret is higher than the other frets and causes a buzz or dead spot you can use the Fretshaper for fret spot leveling.
