There is no reason for comparison between Grandfather & Grandson. Piteelu Chowdiah avaru is the Legendary Violin Maestro in Carnatic Classical Music. Whereas, Rebelstar Ambarish can just feel proud that he is the Maestro's Grandson. We Kannadigas are proud that our Ancestors did promoted & admired Piteelu Chowdiah avaru in Carnatic Classical Music.

I used listen to this concert incessantly on cassette tape over 25 years ago. :) I have it listed as Perambur 1983. The description is correct in calling out the heccarikagA rendition. There are a few excellent renditions of this kriti by KVN Mama from the 1970s, at a faster pace. However, here, Mama slows it down a notch and UKS puts on an absolute show with his accompaniment throughout, taking the experience to another level. My friend and I would try to replicate this recording's effect during some of our weekly practice sessions, me on vocal and him on mridangam. We were reaching for the stars, and it's no surprise that we weren't able to quite get there!

Unfortunately it comes for a few mins in the beginning, as it was overlapped in the initial spool itself. But the rest of the stuff in this one and the other days are perfectly fine. Tks for your feedback!

Those days i.e. 50 years back, Films Division documentaries are famous before Movies of those days. These documentaries are very informative and useful to the youngsters of that period since there is no TV or any other electronic gadgets.
