I acquired a Maxon PH-350 Rotary Phaser about five years ago and since that time the PhazeX didn't get a look in.... today you reminded me why I need to pull it off the shelf more often.... it goes places the Maxon cant.

Hmm... I'm not sure he had a PhazeX as my band, Electrascope, supported Ultrasound and Dark Star at the Leadmill, beginning of 1999... we were all comparing our rare pedals and Bic took an immediate interest in my PhazeX, didn't have one. I'm also pretty sure he wasn't using one when I saw Levitation at the Leadmill (though I was right in front of Terry Bickers)

Do you power it with a 9v battery? If yes, is it ok if I run a power supply to the battery tab?

just make your own..you can make it great or crappy what ever YOU like. The main thing is play more and become a better player. A OC45 cant fix bad playing.

Amazing pedal. So I paid double the new retail price, but I’ll save money by not buying the next 2 pedals I would’ve otherwise bought trying to chase tone. Now I’m set.

February 7 marked a year since I had my Kawasaki V2. It's the only Macaris pedal that I own. When I ordered it, I was astatic and my expectations were through the roof. When it arrived, I made sure all my plans were canceled for the day so I could finally experience this big curiosity that had been waning in me for some time. It was an extremely special moment for me to plug it in for the first time and hear the glorious roar of this magnificent pedal with my guitars. It's the best overdrive, distortion, and fuzz in one box. Never had I ever played my Les Paul with the bridge volume set to 1 so much, it just produces the most amazing overdrive. Playing it with my Stratocaster is a dream, it goes from beautifully clean sounds to massive fuzz with ease. When I play my Mk IV it feels like it's a part of me when I play which is such a big characteristic of the Tone Bender family in my view. It just feels amazing/intuitive to play and it's so reactive to everything you put in it. Add a bit of delay and a tiny bit of reverb and you have yourself one of the most magnificent guitar tones that one can achieve. I literally have it on 98% of the time that I've been playing, it sounds so good that I don't want to turn it off. The Kawasaki V2 has absolutely eclipsed every expectation that I could possibly have had. It's a mainstay whenever I play electric and every bit of the pedal is crafted to such a fantastic standard. I am a massive fan of everything Macaris does and I will NEVER GET RID OF MY MK IV, IT MIGHT AS WELL BE SURGICALLY ATTACHED TO ME AT THIS POINT.

Love hearing these stories from colorsound .and sola sound . Definitely the best guitar effects pedal maker and innovator of guitar pedals. Had octivider in the 70s always thought it was a brilliant pedal . Looking to get another now .thanks

I've had three of him. The first one like the one in the video, in 1977. Then I had two more, including one with a volume knob on the side of the pedal. In addition to controlling the saturation of the guitar's volume, it is also sensitive to the touch of the pick. If you play lightly, you will have a light sound too. From clean to very hard you will have this pedal in your hands. I played with it on all the time.

Its similar to the sola; but its the gary version. I can just tell it uses x2 25uf instead of the 25uf and .1uf. He also likely removed the 47k-56k output resistor.

Hello Anthony! You probably won't remember me, but I dropped into your shop when it was still on the Charing Cross Road, and we got talking about the early Tonebenders, their cuicuits and components. You could tell that I was a Sola Sound Tonebender nut case - I have been studying and building clones for 20 years now - so you asked me down to your workshop to have a look at the 5 Mk1 prototypes which you had just had delivered. I was happy to confirm that every aspect of the circuit, components used and case work were 100% accurate to the originals. You showed me the amazing 'workshop' book belonging originally to Dick Denny with all the notes and drawings for the Vox AC30 etc.etc. My visit was an extremely interesting one. I never got round to bringing in some of my pedals for you to see, and now I'm too ill to make more than a very few. I find it strange that some people quibble about the price you charge for your pedals - they are the ultimate pedals of their type, and ultimate quality is always expensive - but it will always at least hold it's value, and in my opinion will only ever increase in desirability. Thank you for all that you have done to keep the Sola Sound name alive, and for keeping hordes of us pedal nerds happy!
