@saintmoody5322 Yeah. Cds on 20 seconds, so it automatically just alternates whichever is available when I press Wake of Ashes.

@Simonenepoteandre It's a combination of us needing damage in the platform 1 adds, and having to gate as my cds come back up again. Normal Paladins would have full cd usage just before they take the gate. Otherwise, I'd cd in different spots.

And the part where it's entirely my fault is that I never bothered to fix the offset cds at all. Have faith, it'll be better on the second kill.

@wrongdesire Mastery is our best stat, and Crit and Haste are both pretty good. Crit is better for M+, and Haste is generally better in ST. But you want to balance it a bit. I only swung so much here is because I had too much Haste and not much Crit.

For example, pulling 3 packs of 3 enemies that are moderately challenging will lead to more risk and more chances of death than it would be to just pull all 9 enemies at once and cycle through all your cds. That is why your VDH was spiking so much. VDH is between bdk and prot pala self healing, so spikes are pretty normal. That is why they have a cheat death mechanic. But in general, all of the small pulls are why your tank was in constant danger. You have to get the most out of your cds or you will die a lot more.

Furthermore, at 16:29 when your shaman dies, you laugh, but you easily could have saved him. You say "there's nothing going on, and we can't top our guy." My guy, your shaman had a 40% max hp per tick dot on him, and a dark orb is sceonds away from popping and half shotting the group, what are you talking about? you are taking 1 minute sac cd and you aren't using it on the dots in those packs. your shaman had a dot on him and didn't get an external and the orb damage killed him. The only way that is his fault is if he had shift up and didn't use it, but it is hard to see that because you aren't tracking cds, which you need to be doing when you play ret to get max value out of your utility. Your tank does not need to be sac'd on pull. Building that bad habit is a huge crutch. You are getting very low value out of your utility. If your tank cannot survive the start of a pull without wasting your sac, then you go next because it is a skill issue. There are many pulls where sacing on pull is good, but only if you know for a fact that you aren't overlapping with something else, which you most likely are, because every single tank is using SOMETHING on pull. If they aren't, then again, you go next.

I appreciate the input. Part of what makes pugs interesting, though, is that every group is different. We timed this key going slow. Whether that was a nooby thing or not, that worked. I have gotten hall of fame the past several tiers, and I'm just now dipping my tow into pushing keys. There are no comms, and no real stress beyond the general mechanical failures we tend to have at this level. You're a 100% right about me sacking tanks. Based off of previous experience, a lot of tanks just fall over because they're trying to combine stuff. I am sorting out tracking cds. I'm of the opinion that you fix the problem as they arise. If you want to share more tips, I'm always open to hearing it. That's what all of this is for.

@nikolajsteen3949 Crit is generally higher in M+ because of Empyrian hammers Critting is a massive gain. So not a sim bait, but play whatever feels good. Ideally, you'd want a decent balance of Haste and Crit, for ST and AoE. Haste slightly better in ST, crit better in AoE.

@cmikerack9296 At the moment, my gear isn't optimised for M+ as we are still progging mythic raid. And I haven't been exactly gifted with gear. I will transition slightly more towards crit in the coming weeks. Probably enough that there's a 4-5k stat swing. With that said, there's nothing wrong with having loads of Haste as well. It's a small difference, and likely not at all going to effect whether you time a key or otherwise. :)

I just haven't encountered too many situations where I'd die if I didn't LoH myself then bubble in short succession. The Consecrate talent is there for the Slow more than it is for the Area of effect. I'm open to taking it, but I reckon CoT third boss if we're getting railed is probably where I'd consider taking it. Appreciate the input. Thanks. :)

@ it just means you can use your LoH liberally on yourself to help healers in hard times. It’s essentially 2 oh shit buttons. The slow on mobs is overrated. Especially when your tank is chain pulling and trying to position things. But to each their own.

The main problem I have with seal of the crusader is that it's 2 points investment. I will give it a shot though. And forbearance being 20s instead of 30s in my view is practically nothing, primarily because I don't ever see a place to use both bubble and LoH on myself in that quick of a succession. You'll notice more often that not, I'll health pot for myself, and LoH the other people in the party instead. Class tree in general is a win, yes because the previous tree was far worse, and now this current one has FAR better tools for Holy and Prot. What it gives Retribution is less in comparison.

We have a priority system, it's pretty simple. Spend holy power when you have 3 or higher on Templar Verdict. Judgment, HoW, BoJ in single target in that order. BoJ is higher priority if Expurgation is dropping off. Then every 30 seconds, you get 2hp(judgment when you dont have Divine Toll), into Execution Sentence, into Wake of Ashes, into Hammer of Light. Follow standard priority above after that.

No, you open with BoJ because expurgation isn't on the target. Then Divine Toll to get above 2 hp. Then you do your execution sentence window. ES->WoA->HoL-> normal rotation. Which is Judgment, HoW, and BoJ.

Herald is not very far from Templar in all content, if you feel more confident playing Templar, and don't mind losing maybe 5% dps on the top end, you should play it. The only reason Templar is taken nowadays is that Single Target is better for M+ because every dungeon beyond 10+ is both Fortified and Tyrannical.

@@danielyang8270 It's absolutely possible that's true. The main thing as the key levels get higher is that Bosses are the primary pain points, and Templar offers more ST while still doing good AoE.

That's mostly right, but you don't want to cap out on Crit either, so it's a balance of Crit and Haste in the middle. They're almost equal. Raidbots' SIMs have been a little off for a while now though.

Yeah, you should be taking short HoJ as well, so if they come within range of the boss, feel free to Hoj them in place and burn them down. Since you're ret, you can also hit your own one too if your party isn't touching them. Just keep a 10 yard range.
