I have a pattern using this stitch and it wasn’t coming out right. I’ve watched several videos and could not figure out what I was doing wrong! Yours was the only video that helped me figure it out. Thank you so much for posting!

Did you make the granny square sleeping mat for the homeless? I am wondering if it worked and if the joints were comfortable when laying on them.

No, I never finished because the project got left behind when I lost my house in a hurricane. My plan had been to use a seamless join, which would have kept the seams flat and added a bit of width between the squares. You can see an example of that method here: crochetistheway.blogspot.com/2016/06/join-crochet-motifs-with-one-seam.html

Yes, you're correct, at 10:25, the stitch is over farther, due to the fact that we stitch into the right side of the stitch in round below, (not directly in the center of stitch) due to the top loops of the stitch being offset. Sometimes designers remove one stitch in the corner to correct it. I love extended doubles - many crocheters, like Nataly Masters, use extended doubles in place of regular dc's exclusively, just because they look so much nicer.

I don't know why other commenters said it's too fast, especially when the playback speed can be slowed down to a ridiculously slow speed!!! I was able to easily see you making the very first extended dc - even without sound/instructions, I knew exactly what stitch you made, and could see every step of the stitch clearly.

Good afternoon. I just want to sincerely thank you fro sharing your invisible join in this video. I’m making a sweater in the round for me granddaughter and wasn’t quite sure how to do the granny stitch in the round. I’ve decided on a more modern stitch in the round but have incorporated your invisible join and I LOVE IT! THANK YOU SO MUCH! 😊🥰

Jenny, I liked your single plarn method of cutting grocery bags, comes in handy for some projects, although I do prefer double plarn because single tends to break easily during crocheting. ALSO: This spiral winding JUST DIDN'T WORK FOR ME!! (Constructive Feedback Meant to let you know: Wound 3 neat little balls. But when I went to crochet, they unwound, tangled and I had one heck of a mess to tackle. PLEASE RECONSIDER - FIND AN ALTERNATIVE FOR THOSE (like me) WHO ENCOUNTER A SIMILAR PROBLEM. Thank you kindly. Gave the video a thumbs up for good effort and encouragement.

Very confusing as to when to do extended stitches. Not enough explanation.

Amy, when you work a regular granny square, the corners would be (3dc, 2ch, 3dc). In this version you work (3 extended dc, 2ch, 3dc). All other stitches in the pattern are worked as a regular granny square.

I couldn't quite tell, in the first part of the first corner on the second round (before the chain space, are those all regular double stitches? Do you only make the extended stitches last in corner spaces?

Suggestion: For peeps who have arthritis, you should do this video using a large crochet hook.

New subbie here. I love this idea. An easy recycling and useful idea. Dang it, I just gave a boat load of plastic bags to Target for recycling. :( I will have to rebuild my stash.:) I have a Request. Would you make two vids using these squares, one making that grocery bag you mentioned and the other making the sleeping mats. I think those are fabulous ideas. Great job. Tfs.
