@Mainlythingswithwheels9 ай бұрын
thanks for viewing, we haven’t detailed how to adjust the exhaust and inlet valves, however i would suggest getting an owners manual, they are simple screw and locknut adjusters. if you’re adjusting it while the engine is in the car, a mirror is useful for this.

Glad I stumbled across your vid! I've done something similar but with two Identical RC cars (Bought a second one to use the first for skeletal parts) Had a brainwave to turn the older of the two into a trailer mower with the Brushless motor similar to yours... cuts well but ESC and motor taking strain, ESC fan blade is gone, screws coming out of the back of the motor - not too good. I plan to use the old differential as a better drive for the blade with the motor but that will come at a later stage...
@Mainlythingswithwheels Жыл бұрын
thanks for watching! that sounds like a pain, I would have thought that using components for a brushless system would be better. Mine is actually a brushed drill motor with a Ni-Mh battery which drains really quickly so I was thinking of upgrading to brushless motor and Li-Po battery, never got round to it tho 🤷

Well hello there. Is there a "special" way to remove the distributor base, or is it just secured in place with those two studs? I couldn't move it more than 2mm. One of those studs destroyed the threads in the head, and was leaking, so I need to remove it to open up a new M8 thread. Thanks.
@Mainlythingswithwheels Жыл бұрын
Hi, remove the two nuts, withdraw the distributor as a whole, and then remove the damaged stud so that it can be fixed.
@mr_nice. Жыл бұрын
@@Mainlythingswithwheels .....well, that did NOT help, as I already did that and it's not the stud that is destroyed, it's the female thread on the head. And actualy, after 4 months from that comment of mine, I eventualy discovered that both female threads for those studs are destroyed, and I had to open new M8 threads, and install new M8 bolts with inner hex heads and copper sealing washers to prevent leaking, and I tried making a gasket from cork rubber sheet, to seal the part where it touches the head. It seems to be working just fine, but I couldn't remove the part. I had to insert that gasket with caution in that 2mm spacing, and then rotate it in place, so that it covers what needs to be covered, and then gently tighten the two bolts. It's the "base" of the distributor, AKA "housing", that needs to be removed. The part right under the distributor. Is it possible that it's kept in place with a bolt that screws into the camshaft? Thanks.

Thanks for sharing bring back some cool memories. Oh have I welded on an old GS, yes lots of sheet metal. I`m an old car mechanic living in Sweden and I bought two, one for parts and one to fix. Must have been late 70ies or early 80ies I forgot but they where in real bad condition with rust. I got it running though and drove it for a while.
