I've heard these Citroen engines are so durable there are Citroen mechanics who have never seen the insides of them.

Thank You , may I see a video of the steps on how to properly adjust the Citroen GS valve 🙏

thanks for viewing, we haven’t detailed how to adjust the exhaust and inlet valves, however i would suggest getting an owners manual, they are simple screw and locknut adjusters. if you’re adjusting it while the engine is in the car, a mirror is useful for this.

I haven't seen the Y exhaust pipie was mounted before the gearbox - how are you going to do it now? :)

I am currently preparing an extra engine for my Citroen GSA 1,3. I want to make it like new. Internally it is in very good condition. I have to clean it on the outside like you cleaned it but I can't. What method did you use to clean it so well?
@Mainlythingswithwheels Жыл бұрын
hi thanks for you comment, white spirit and CarPlan degreaser was mainly used for cleaning the engine. hope that helps!

Well hello there. Is there a "special" way to remove the distributor base, or is it just secured in place with those two studs? I couldn't move it more than 2mm. One of those studs destroyed the threads in the head, and was leaking, so I need to remove it to open up a new M8 thread. Thanks.

Hi, remove the two nuts, withdraw the distributor as a whole, and then remove the damaged stud so that it can be fixed.

@@Mainlythingswithwheels .....well, that did NOT help, as I already did that and it's not the stud that is destroyed, it's the female thread on the head. And actualy, after 4 months from that comment of mine, I eventualy discovered that both female threads for those studs are destroyed, and I had to open new M8 threads, and install new M8 bolts with inner hex heads and copper sealing washers to prevent leaking, and I tried making a gasket from cork rubber sheet, to seal the part where it touches the head. It seems to be working just fine, but I couldn't remove the part. I had to insert that gasket with caution in that 2mm spacing, and then rotate it in place, so that it covers what needs to be covered, and then gently tighten the two bolts. It's the "base" of the distributor, AKA "housing", that needs to be removed. The part right under the distributor. Is it possible that it's kept in place with a bolt that screws into the camshaft? Thanks.
