I’ve only changed the rear so far - running OEM pads tho. Only thing that’s disappointing is that they’re already rusty in non-contact areas after the first wash. Also my boxes came with a 911 on the front 🦾

And having the tools to do all of these jobs and specialty tools for each and every one of them.. my god do I have hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of dollars of tools. I am at the moment about to go through this on my Mk6! I am doing timing chains, fuel injectors an intake and exhaust as well as K04 turbo and tune. Wish me luck! (also rip my wallet! $5000! )

I’m the original owner of a 2017 MK7 GTI S 6spd. Non-LSD. The car is FBO, IS38, running custom tunes on WMI. Never have had it dyno’d before, but I’m assuming it’s in the 380-390whp range. Everything is setup on it for street use, and as I currently stands with mods, it’s just about perfect IMO. Yes, I get a lot of wheel spin, and yes, I do get quite a bit of understeer when corner hard and fast. I’ve really wanted to put the wavetrack LSD in it for quite some time now, but tbh, it doesn’t really need the LSD for daily street use. Would it be better with it? Yes. Does it need it? No. Some feathering of the throttle fixes it (I’m tuned boost-by-gear so that definitely helps). But man, the wavetrack LSD has risen in price multiple times since COVID, and it’s just been hard to justify a $3k+ mod (parts + install) on my high mileage GTI now.

I have a mk5 gti running unitronic stage 2+ K04 kit and their off the shelf tune. I don’t run an LSD but I’m lowered on H&R SS springs w/bilstein dampers, the continental extreme contact tires DWS, and all mounts are upgraded to BFI stage 1 package (6 speed manual). Out of first it initially struggles for traction but then hooks up with ESP on ( and zero wheel hop a tiny bit of torque steer). So honestly you don’t need a diff if your just into it for street use.
