Thanks for the idea. Im 56 on oxygen therapy and 6' 290, i decided to buy a leather recliner after 18 years of not owning one. My biggest issue is momentum getting out of these because they tend to spring backwards after a while and they are to short to the floor for my height anyway. Going to do this and put that cross brace in as well. best wishes. ( Beautiful cat, is it siamese or snow shoe? )

For a tree half the size did you cut the lengths to 5 3/16 (half of 10 3/8") for the 36 degree cut and then 2 3/4" (half of 5 1/2") for the 54 degree cut. Same 3/4" stock. Tried that and did not work. Sorry need help. Thanks Gary.

I guess I am not measuring the length from tip to tip. I measured 5 1/2" inch from the long part of the 36 degree to the inside cut on the blade for the 54 degree as opposed to the long tip of the 54 degree. Did not want to waste more wood in case I am not fully understanding and seeing where the measurements start and stop. Thanks Gary, great video..

I don't understand what I'm doing wrong... I'm marking the measurements exactly like in the video (yes I'm doing 5 1/2) and when I cut it, they are coming out nearly the exact same size.

Cool work. My issue with it, however, is with the base s it is, it'll make it tough if you're bouncing in and out with your attacks and working and pivots and movement around the bag as you go to work on it. However, if you'll mostly just be doing stationary punching, it should work great. For my needs, I think instead of the base, I'll make it extra tall and then install it In a hole in the ground as if it were a fence post.

On your smaller star I cut the measurements in half just like you instructed. Yet after 2 attempts I have been unable to make it work. Could you post the measurements please. I know that you still have to allow for the 1/8” saw blade. Even after allowing for that and not allowing for it. No luck. Thanks my big stars are perfect!

Hmm...don't know what to say. I'm sorry it's not coming out right for you. I know I've said one measurement but I think i write the correct one on the screen, or in the description. I've found a new way to make stars without measurements, and I'm working on that video now. Keep an eye out.

I really need a slower, more exact look at precisely where you are measuring and making your cuts. I totally get your angles of your cuts......but where exactly and you measuring to, and where is that mark in relation to the actual cut. That's where you lost me. HELP! I really want to be able to do this. I can't tell where you are placing the mark on your board in the saw. I'm one of those dumb southerners, and my brain doesn't work quite that fast! Ha Ha Thanks so much for posting this!

Awesome sound! Wondering why you bothered with the center finder? 1. If your jig is centered under the drill, then your holes will be centered. 2. No matter where you mark on the pipe, will be 'centered'.

I'm not 100% sure on the question. I think most of the weight is on the actual toilet flange. Perhaps you could shave a little off the base to sit more flush? I'm not a plumber, and I'm just going off the direction provided. Sorry.😊

@@TheBeardedWoodworker no worries :-) my Super is always trying to get out of doing the disability stuff that they are supposed to provide. We are having quite a time trying to find a toilet with a bowl height of 18 inches so that after putting the padded toilet seat on we can achieve 19 inches which is the height. I need in order to safely transfer. I suggested the solution of raising it from the bottom with something like that toilet riser however he said they don't exist. Then he said if they did exist, they would probably be wobbly. Someone else suggested that perhaps the tiling on the floor is not level, which would create a bigger job and that's why the Super is saying that. So that's where I'm trying to figure out how to solve the situation and be able to give productive suggestions so that it can get done. In the past that proves to be the way to get accessibility where this person is concerned, unfortunately.

So I did a longer video showing more detail steps, and in that video, I did make a smaller by dividing the measurements in half. It worked in the video, but somehow I could reproduce it. But I do think it's possible. 😊

Ok woodworkers one question. When he made the second set of cuts at 54 degrees DID HE RESET HIS MITER, to 54 degrees, or did he just leave it at 36 degrees, and the way the wood was, it came OUT to a 54 degrees cut ? If he reset the miter, is that the 45 degree stopblock with 9 degree cut ‘ trick ‘ ? ( My Miter only goes to 45 degrees ). Thank you all.
@RickMorgan-f3w
@RickMorgan-f3w 2 ай бұрын
Ok. I saw the first 2 minute video. He DID reset his Miter, so I have to do a 45 degree stop block, then set my Miter to 9 degree cuts.
@TheBeardedWoodworker
@TheBeardedWoodworker 2 ай бұрын
@RickMorgan-f3w you can definitely do that, but you have to take a different approach, and cut the pieces individually. My method uses a miter saw that Goes to 54° to make less cuts. Does that help?
