That machine sucks I sold mine once I heard another update is coming for the legend and I truly believe I will never have to get another machine for years once my legend dies I will simply get another I make over a hundred thousand dollars a year and there’s no way I am paying over a grand for any machine that’s ridiculous like like Garrett been fucking people for years and still fucking people

How many gold rings with splits in them are there? Probably not many. But always interesting to see comparisons. In magnetic sand the D2 needs to be set to Magnetic Accept. And there is the Audio Filter too. I think the D2 has GB problems and needs a manual GB.

Exactly ,that’s why I taped together to make whole again. But will be splitting it for a future test , try not to see it as a ring but how conductive ( the resistivity of the item) is. Think like a metal detector. Complete ring mid conductor split ring low conductor

I never got the silicon usb driver. I see you did. Mine came with 1.13. i just updated to 1.15 simce its new on wondows 10 but havent used it yet. Should i get the silocon labs cp210x universal deiver and update and do it again? Like without it donthe drivers never work right on updates? The update seemed to work well but i have no basis of comparison to know if it is a bad update. Thanks. Im just hearing about all this usb driver stuff and peoples issues. Its my first update since mine came with 1.13 already installed.

@@HistoryRevisitedukI thought that might be the case PI cross although the VLF channel is the id channel I believe and thats were all metal detectors fail in high mineralisation. Over in some regions of the USA the red dirt there is so mineralised, only PI metal detectors work, the Deus 2 on a 1 inch target sounds like duck farts lol 😆

Can anyone tell me how to return the Simplex Ultra to factory defaults? My son made some adjustments to his new Ultra in an attempt to ground balance (based on a youtube video) and now the thing is chattering virtually all the time. Rather than dig through every setting, I'm hoping there's an option to reset everything. I followed instructions online stating that you turn it off, turn it back on, and then press the settings and pinpoint buttons at the same time (once you see the simplex logo) until you hear 3 beeps. We never hear 3 beeps - it just continues to turn on and then turn off.

Manual ground balance has a clear advantage over automatic ground balance. You can tweak it to make it slightly hotter or null it down in tough places. It clearly makes a difference on smaller pieces of jewelry like a gold earrings or a thin gold chain.

@@XP1972-h8x yes all vlf machines struggle , the tarssici mdt 8000 handles it very well. Best ground balance machine I have ever used , has 0-1000 mineralisation scale and a second large black sand scale with a dual all metal layered disc audio

@@HistoryRevisiteduk My brother bought the Rutus Versa and it did great on the beach, but a gold band in 8 inches of black mineralised sand it's gone, AKA have a Hybrid metal detector whether or not it lives up to its expectations is anyone's guess!!

@@HistoryRevisiteduk I detect a beach in Wales and gold rings even a few inches down turn to an iron tone, you would definitely have to dig every iron target to retrieve the treasure, the PI is still the clear winner, never used the Tassacci 8000 which I very nearly did buy when it first came out but metal detectors get very expensive swapping one to another with very little difference between them, I feel the hybrid machines could be the future over multi frequency but having used top end PI metal detectors, they can be selective depending on ground minerals. Some soils on using a Whites TDI got some metals but would ignore a big Lizzie silver, the reality is if you don't dig everything including iron, you will always miss good targets.

I left my local club because it's full of greedy, jealous treasure hunters, it's put me off metal detecting to be honest, it used to be a hobby for the loner eccentric types, now it's full of 🔔 ends, and get rich quick thieves who ruin the "hobby" sorry business. My mate once said, once you mention gold it's over as a hobby and it is now a full time business, better days were in the 80's and 90's even though detectors were not has good.

I use either 15 or 20 frequency and it's deeper for more targets than any of the multis and it's far more stable too.

Interesting. The Versa sounds almost exactly like an original gen X-Terra. Triple Score did well considering the narrower coil.

To nearly eliminate all discrimination issues and settings, I would put the three machines in "pinpoint" modes. Then you can see and hear if the detector is sensing the target.

Well indeed the Versa in particular has dual mode on each park pasture beach.. it's one of the more interesting features on that machine that effectively gives you a normal tone with a pinpoint type all metal tone running in background

Crazy test 😂 As a D2 owner I have some qstn for U: 1. Does master costs 1000 ? Usually 600. 2. Does anyone use diving programm for dry sand? 3. XP machines go deeper by lowering reactivity. Audio response is just aplyfier all of the signals and interferences.

Good questions 1 master is around 700£ with full rc unit £1400. No diff in performance, just not waterproof no xy screen or speaker and not possible to name your saved programs 2 yes very good in mineralised wet ground beach or land

3 yes reactivity in beach was stock 0. Yes audio response increases volume of deeper targets but you loose perception of depth in audio, I use it a lot on trashy pasture where rubbish can be couple inches down (louder signals) but history deeper (fainter signals) I just then dig the fainter signals leaving most of the trash in the ground
