This is a very helpful video. Thank you! Where, in option 3, would it be ideal to put a 10-band EQ?

Great video, thank you 🙏 I never knew of noise suppression pedals until I was messing around with my Valeton GP 100 multi effects processor device. Noise suppression is awesome!! Especially with single coil pickups. Mostly use the Valeton with only the noise pedal enabled, in front of a Boss Katana Artist 100. Love it!!

Amazing vid & very graphic. I tried the 3rd config but noticed my mxr noise gate sucked a lot of tone & my flanger/chorus sounded way to loud... But this brought some light my way!!! will try something custom with these steps

Hello, I know your video is 3 years old however wanted to mention that I have been struggling like crazy to get this right in terms of setting my pedals and went through soooo many videos without success until I got to yours! Big thank you! I am using a Vangoa pedal board, any advice on the set up of in and out from the board?

what if I am playing through two amplifiers and using an A/B BOX (amp selector foot switch) ? Does the input from the NS2 go to the output amp selector ?

I bought the nektar for my Valeton multi-effects with whammy function. I never could get the nektar to zero which meant there was always a pitch difference or an offset from natural when the nektar was in the zero position I ended up with the Roland.

the good news is pedals are designed to play well with amps youre not gonna blow anything up by hooking it up incorrectley just make sure your volume is low to start and go from there

Thank you for these diagrams. FINALLY someone provided a practical visualization for those guitarist who use gain pedals before the amp input AND time-based effects in the amp effects loop. Not every pedal user runs the entire signal chain into the amp input.

HELP Ive got a problem. Im using Marshall jvm 410. In effects loop im using digitech drop, phaser, booster and chorus. When i use this x method and turn the fx button on, my signal drops to about 10% that i can barely hear it. What might be wrong? I use gain only from the amp.
@tonecraft53867 ай бұрын
Is your threshold switch set very high. This switch does cancel the noise but also lower the guitar output sound. so set only up to where you need to cancel the hum noise. As low as possible and use Noise suppressor only when you needed.
@immanuel_cunt76888 ай бұрын
My friend, I've got a question to option 3! What do you think of this: guitar, whah, then overdrive/distortion in NS input, then NS send in amp input! You 've got the preamp gain pedals in the NS loop!? Best regards
@tonecraft53867 ай бұрын
Your mentioned setup will cancel the noise generated from guitar, wah, OD/DS only in your case and this is almost same as I have explained in Option 1. This option does not cancel the hum noise created from Amp. Try to use send and return explain in Option 2 or best will be option 3 base on the type of guitar amp and noise suppressor you have.

It's not a "tone control" on the side, it's like max and min values for the expression function. Think you should try the Moog one more time and set it to work from 0 to 100. ;)

I am using a Prs mc carty 594 , which goes into a TC electronic forcefield compressor to the NS-2 dialed to a Walrus audio Slotva directly to my UAD volt 2 ( gain to 9-10 o clock ) to my macbook pro 19. I am using the caline 206 isolated as for my pedal power supply. Despite using all these things i am still getting some interference and bit of mid to high end humming (minimal around -60db of constant noise floor peaking around -50 /-40db but audible). The buzz completely stops whenever I touch my cable sleeve , strings , pickups and it gets somewhat low but still audible whenever I move to a certain position However ,that’s impractical for me to stay in that position every time I play cause it starts buzzing again with every inch I move. I am opting for a noiseless clean tone but this is disturbing me. Please help!!

Wouldn't you want your gate/suppressor AFTER you distortion pedals so you can control them with the gate? I'm referring to the 4 cable method when you want to use the amp distortion and FX loop.
