Very comprehensive video! I have had the MSP panels for a few years now and contemplating the shelf. I see this video is about 3 years old....are you still happy with the shelf?

Very. It always has gear on it. It was a great add.

Heard that you should replace the hub axle when replacing the hub bearings because they tend to wear at the points of contact with the bearings and break.

Should I run longer travel? I’ve heard it sits deeper initially and I have 3 lengths of springs I can choose from.
@DustinYoung2whlogre25 күн бұрын
You should run a bit more pressure. If you want to run more travel that is an option. I just added air pressure and got the feel I wanted.
@LoamRoamer25 күн бұрын
I would run 15% or so more pressure. More travel, if it does not change geo enough to impact ride quality, is good but unnecessary.

Hi! Im from mexico and have a hartail that i use for allmountain and enduro light, stock bike have 26 mm internal, I wanna buy sun ringle duroc rims and have to option Sun ringle duroc 35 (with 31 internal) and duroc SD37 (with 32 internal) What do you recomend for my style of riding ? I live on a zond with very technical trail on the forest, northshore style ...
@LoamRoamerАй бұрын
32 internals so if you run a 2.4 it is blocky or a 2.6 you get the benefit.
@jacoblopez1432Ай бұрын
@LoamRoamer I use 2.4 hutchinson Wyrm For your comments, the Best election would be duroc 35 (internal 31) ? with my actual 26mm I see the tyre super round, like a balloon...

27mm - front 2.6 , rear 2.4 rigged marin muirwoods
@LoamRoamerАй бұрын
2.6 will be rounded, it works if the goal is rolling as the tire profile is optimized for less resistance and not optimized for cornering. The rear def should roll, and corner pretty good.

I just got a Transition Relay, (Fazua Ride 60). I want to do this. Are there any concerns with the tight bend on the cable where it comes from the controller and loops back under the ring before going in the hole? I wish there was a way to disassemble/reassemble the ring, placing the wire on the other side. Good video. Thanks.
@LoamRoamerАй бұрын
Try and give it some loop, it is a thin bunch of wires for sure, but that is also a good reason to put it away.

I’m currently running 29mm internal width rims paired with 2.4in Bontrager Gunnison tires. I’m dissatisfied with their roundish profile. Would a 2.5WT maxxis offer me a better profile? I’m thinking of getting some assegais or maybe dissectors

Is it just me or does aligning the bar with the markings of headtube angle make it look like it’s really rolled foward?

I htink it is just a cemera effect in the video, the bars are definitely not rolled forward.

In gravel bike 50mm front and 45mm rear - should I go for 25 internal or 28internal which is 75gr heavier for each rim ?
@DustinYoung2whlogre2 ай бұрын
I would go 28 in the front and 25 in the rear. This is for traction versus rolling and spinning up. Many of my bikes have this variation for performance reasons.

Great information on the topic. I unknowingly got my 240 hub built up to a 25mm IW rim.. the EX471... pretty upset about the 25mm IW because I've always ran 30mm and they've worked well. Right now I have a Conti Kryp 2.4 to the 2.4... What are your thoughts on a minion 2.4 on the 25mm IW... 2.3 minion?
@LoamRoamer3 ай бұрын
It will round those tires and reduce the traction patch. While this may be fine in the rear it will make the front really feel the dead spot of a minion. If you drop to the 2.3 it will help. 30mm would be far more ideal. Even 28mm would be a big change using the tire widths you like. Sorry to hear you got a build that came with a narower rim width.

What about gravel 27.5 wheels? I have 50mm clearence front with a 29” wheel and 43mm on the rear with a 29” wheel. Probably 50mm front and 45mm with the 27.5 wheels. Any thoughts about the sweet spot for a internal rim with, tire combo? Thanks

Hi, What am I supposed to be feeling exactly that’s soooo much better? I just got a 36 Performance and it feels freaking awesome! What more can the Grip2 damp do for my riding? My performance 36 ( to me ) is the best! You can adjust on the fly and actually feel the difference by simply setting to Firm, Med, and wide Open. Most people I know wouldn’t dare fiddle with their factory 36 bc they spend a ton of time setting it up and assume it feels good dialed without actually really knowing what perfect is supposed to feel like?
@LoamRoamer3 ай бұрын
I agree with you in many ways. My point is why get Kashima just to get the ports. And if you want to have more adjustment a damper is all that does that, not the cost of appearance. You make great points on how simpler suspension worked really well for many.

Loving my Sight VLT C2! I run a Lyrik at 170mm on Noble TR-37s with Hydra hubs. One Up 35mm bar, Cromag stem, Funn Mamba one side clipless as well on Conti Krypyotal DH casing super soft front and soft rear. Its such a capable bike for shuttle DH laps but still absolutely rips punchy XC trails. My next upgrade is AXS. I did put XT 4 pot brakes on the front because they were needed. Great video on your wicked bike!

I am looking at snagging this bike this weekend (SIZE L). I am 6', 190 lbs. I just sold my 2021 CUBE Stereo HPC Race 140 LARGE. Loved the bike just bottomed it out a few times. Looking to upgrade to a bigger squish, better components. I enjoy doing it all. This would be my everyday bike here in Southern Alberta, trails, medium jumps and drops, downs and ups. Hard to decide. Feels like mixed reviews. Wish I could have kept my other bike to compare side by side. Any other tips?
@LoamRoamer5 ай бұрын
I ride mine all the time, and it makes a tremendous one-bike solution. It is the bike I have owned the longest to date. If riding it on everything you describe, run it in high mode as a 29er. I think Mullet is only for the steeper and very tight riding on this bike. So many reviewers start out telling you how great a bike is because of their contract and then pivot (no pun intended) to a changed message when something new comes out. They are paid to say it is better; it is why I started this; I wouldn't say I like that about influencer behavior. A large will be great, and a suspension setup will be important. Don't run your compression fully open; damping is essential to all bikes. Follow their recommendations and then make small changes from there. I do big climb days with this bike, and while it is not an XC bike, it climbs well and is not a miserable experience. Then you point it in the direction of the party, and the confidence you gain is incredible. It is a playful bike that can smash big obstacles as well. Enjoy the bike, it is one of the better rides out there to own!
