Great comparison! Can you share your weight and the settings of the Ohlins? Tokens, spacers and adjustments?

I’m switching to Ohlins for next season and looking forward to it. I didn’t get to ride my TTX2 before the season ended, but doing a seat bounce test made me smile since the shock is noticeably more supple and sensitive than the Float X that this replaced. I wonder if putting volume reducers in the shock would get you some support to improve the performance in berms and g-outs.

I have 8k volume reducer. It does well in berms, but not as easy as Fox for this for me.

Sounds like you just have more rebound damping on the Ölins

They are both incredibly dialed for the bike and I, this is where the two differ,

tight comparison! what trail is that? two similar shocks but i feel they have two different approach’s to adjustments. air pressure the same for the same amount of sag? i ended the air argument by throwing on a DHX2, insane. but… the X2 is pretty sweet. my buddy swears by the TTX2.

The trail is Sober Deer in Truckee and is publically available. Their air pressure is close to identical. The main difference between these two shocks is how much damping they use. I love a good coil, but the Firebird uses the air so effectively that I cannot see carrying the extra weight. I will be testing a coil on this bad boy to validate this at some point. See you on the trails soon!

I am 207 geared and use a shockwiz try I am at 208 psi 8lsc 8lsr 5hsc 3hsr. If you measured sag from standing up you’ll see you need less air than expected. I am at 30 percent sag with that pressure. You are probably using too much air IMO

@@LoamRoamer what settings did you end up with for the m.2? I ended up with 117psi in main chamber. 280 in ramp. 2 lsc and between 7 and 8 lsr from closed. Hsc always open
