Out was more like 2/3 except that first rapid which felt 4ish at that flow. But at higher flows its more like 3/4 with that top rapid being a solid 5. This was a pretty low flow

Sure has changed since 15 or 20 years ago when I used to run it. It was much cleaner and less blown out, fewer logs. Must have been massive mud slides, maybe after fires? Still a decent run, but the West was always much nicer.

I'm running the top section of that River tomorrow. Think I'm going to skip the dam section. I have no idea where the rebar is.

I was so stoked to get on this at 3k. It was my first time down and i was surprised by how stout the "class III" unnamed rapids in the upper gorge and elsewhere felt.

Looked like Lava Dam is back to being runnable now then? I haven't been out there to see it for myself, but I remember you walking across it earlier in the season.

Great video quality and editing! It's always nice to follow a lead kayaker who knows the line. In this video, I found myself focusing on the lead kayaker as if I too was on the river.

Next time if you catch upper pemi above 7 feet, consider hiking up cascade brook, it should be on good above 7 feet and you can hike up as high as you want.

What’s the rapid at 1:04 that you all scout? Looks stout, but I don’t think I’ve seen it in other WFH videos, or in descriptions I’ve read. Maybe you put in above the Lake Branch Fork?

it peaked around 3500 either the day after or a couple days after i think it was in the 2000's that day I don't have it written down unfortunately. I just started keeping a proper river log this year.
