Upper Deschutes River kayaking - Dillon/Lava

The Upper Deschutes in Bend has a number of awesome sections on it, but they are all pretty short, so the best way to do it is to link a few up. Dillon/Lava is one of the best bangs for your buck, starting just above Dillon falls and ending just below Lava island rapids. Dillon is a 15 foot falls followed by a super fun Class IV Gorge. it is followed by a bit of flatwater then The big Eddy rapids are next. after the big eddy takeout you jump right into Lava which is a Stout series of boiling turning water with multiple channels, one of which is a slide into a big hole. It ends with Lava 2, a really fun Bigwater feel rapid with a Giant hole you can boof on the left. what a great place to get a feel for my new 9R2!
