Having the speaker wire stripped so long that it’s touching the amplifier case can be a quick way to blow up an amplifier. Luckily the case appears that it isn’t grounded or isn’t conductive. Cool little project though.

A great, helpful walk-through video. Shortly about to undertake a very similar project here in England, UK. Enjoy merging old radio architecture with modern audio technology. Thanks.

In that situation, you could pick up a cheap smart socket and turn the Bluetooth on and off with your voice with Alexa or Google.

This Bluetooth doesn’t have an external antenna. Is the range and ability to control it easily from a 2000sf home for example?

I can only echo all the wonderful sentiments from the comments below. I too had the "heard it in the car and pulled over" moment! I instantly went online and found this lovely tribute. Thank you so much. She will be a constant on my jazz playlists. I'm so sorry the world lost her so soon.

Do you have to turn all of the raidos/speakers on (by switch or plug in) everytime you use them so that there is not speaker hum or can you leave them on so that you can ask alexa at anyime to play music hands free?

Awesome How To. I have a number of older radios that my dad had sitting around as furniture… The issue with trying to repair these older radios is that the dialectic in the capacitors and resistors, etc.. has lost its ability to control proper voltage levels. The cost of replacing each discrete component would be expensive even if you can find the parts. This is a brilliant way to restore an old classic. Thank you for the recommendation on Bluetooth components.

What a beautiful voice Leslie Page has. The flugelhorn is heartening too. The whole band playing is faithful to the original French movie rendition.

Try using a simpler recording process (just a handheld recorder) you're sucking all the life out of your music.

I remember this, not what you'd consider a disco tune except for a few seconds of the high-hat fill. Great CD to play while pulling an all nighter at the office.
