If you compare the quality of components between the Pioneer and A&H equipment, you will discover that quality of pioneer is times lower most of the times (being honest, I haven’t found a case pioneer took advantage). So use you gear wisely.

Correct me if I’m wrong - when hooked up to a controller that doesn’t have send/return, there’s no way of selecting which deck to apply the effects to? The signal is affected across the whole controller - is that right?

Just picked up one of these. Great video and good information. One question how do I connect it to a set of speakers as the built in speaker is not great. What cable would I need and what connection on the back of it do I use. Thanks

Pioneer fx are always too loud and brash. They don’t sit right in the mix and sound “over the top” and fake. The fx units are great but they need to give the user the ability to tweak the eq and levels more. Like when you were using the drum pads it sat well with the mix but when adding the scene fx it sounds way too over the top. I have an RMX 500 which does the same. They need to release a firmware update for it….

I got my Allen & Heath DB4 back in December 2012. Were the later versions of this model updated to include Serato or was there a way to upgrade to be able to use Serato without the Control Box.

This unit is the Mini Kaoss Pad 2. Not the Kaossilator 2.

false, the mini kaoss pad 2 is the effects processor, this is the synth unit. same build, the other is black

Hi, I'm sure you had valuable information. But the sound quality was very poor, also poor video quality. I had speakers up all the way and could not drown out the cave affect. Sorry.

What is the main advantage of the RMX1000? I'm currently deciding whether to buy the 500 or the 1000. I have a DJM2000Nexus mixer and the one on the effects bus has 3 separate bass/mid/high knobs, just like the RMX1000. So I think that after connecting it to the Send/Return bus, the RMX500 will be enough for me. I haven't found any other major advantages for the 1000.

So you cant adjust the filter independently for each channel? That would seem like a basic feature on a pro mixer.

A meaningless statement. No you can’t do it independently for each channel. But you can adjust its parameters far more than any other brand of mixers, and it also actually sounds good. I’d rather have 1 awesome sounding and useful multi assignable filter than 4 shit sounding non adjustable filters.

Nothing seems to play for me, Serato DJ Pro loads up nicely but when i load a song it simply won't play anything, just sits there loaded but doing nothing.

Unfortunately not. Only if you add a breakout box which is expensive and not as convenient. Not sure if it’s A&H or Serato who need to certify but would be useful.
