The pipe cars come to us here at Agrock. We take them down to get unloaded and bring them back up so CSX can pick up the empties.

Awsome video Christian. The 1714 is a cool looking locomotive but I still don’t if the 1714 is an EMD or a GE but it’s still a cool locomotive. Keep up the good work dude👍
@multicolorfilms13 күн бұрын
It’s EMD, with GE components.
@Trainandrocketlover13 күн бұрын
@oh okay that’s what I figured. But the horn sounds like it came off a GEVO but it sounds cool

1714 and its other 17XX series sisters are SD23T4s which are basically the unholy union of an EMD and a GE. They have a 6 cylinder GE Marine Evolution series engine replacing the original EMD 645 series engine. They are POS, not worth a crap in either in yard service or Road service. They can't pull well like a AC44 or ES44 will and they don't load as quick as a SD40-2 would normally. They are a downgrade all around, basically taking the worse things about both manufacturers and slapping it on one frame.
@multicolorfilms13 күн бұрын
They look cool... that's where the pros end. Thanks for the info!

Great shots!!! I met Kotabeaner at one of the Train Day festivals in Dade City about 5-6 years ago...a very young Kota. It's so kool to see him operating them now. I actually went out today to do a lil railfanning myself after being stagnant for a few years. I left North Kissimmee and headed South running along the A line. I stopped at a few places along the way like Auburndale and then found myself all the way down at the Winston Wye. There's a bit more action on the rails now that the Floridian is running. Managed to catch 3 freights, 4 Amtraks (1 twice as it came back from TPA heading south), and 4 SunRails

You seem to model your channel based on Distant Signal, if the voice wasn't different I would swear I was listening to Danny. Sorry for the late comment, Christian, but youtube wasn't cooperating the other night. As always, excellent vid. I've often thought about jumping on a SunRail and doing a Poinciana-DeLand-Poinciana rounder, but my aversion to Orlando traffic has squelched that trip thus far.

What a great video, love the commentary and information. I was lucky enough to live in this area as a kid and now as an adult living back in the UK, it was really nice to see areas I used to frequent. There seems to be a lot of interesting industries in that area, have you ever thought about documenting them and what commodities they process?

Interesting day there Christian. Nice you got to visit with the hogger on No.41. I love Auburndale. I’ll have to check out that burger joint-I usually get BBQ at Smokin Jim’s. Thanks for the history on Pan Am railroad. Merry Christmas! BTW, in Waycross now-went 3 days without a heritage unit then got 2 on the same train (M602-13) PL&E, Western Maryland. The latter was getting dirty-more visible with the white sides.
