I have a Bass Pro Shops Pond Prowler 10. It's fully outfitted with a trolling motor up front and a 3.5hp Mercury in the rear. The seats that come with it suck so I had to upgrade right away. The boat gets so soft in the sun that both transoms flex ridiculously. Split hull construction (top half and bottom half) means that water can seep into the seam. You can't bolt any accessories to them because they're plastic. The floor width is only 23 inches so not enough room there for me. The pontoons naturally get water in them just from condensation and you have to tip the damn boat up on its nose vertically to get the water out of the drains. I added two drain plugs to the bottom of the rear pontoons. Basically I hate the boat and I am currently in the process of purchasing a 12 foot aluminum jon boat to replace it with.

@PFDTVАй бұрын
@@brycekean3507 I would definitely go the extra mile and get one online. I normally use the swamp eye gigging light from outrigger outdoors. Only reason I used the light in the video was because I forgot to charge the battery to the swamp eye lol.

That's what I'm talking about! Have you ever tried gigging at Holly or Rutherford or any of the other beaches down that way? I have been thinking of trying but if they are not there, I really don't want to waste my time you know. Great video, God bless and see you on the next one.

@@youroutdoors5453 thanks a lot man! I’ve only gigged once on the west side of the state and that was in the ship channel by the Cameron ferry south of big lake. That was during the fall flounder run though. Haven’t been since they closed the flounder season here lol

@@PFDTV The ship channel, cool, did you do any good when you did it?
@PFDTVАй бұрын
@@youroutdoors5453 yeah I found a few. I didn’t cover much ground because I was limited due to a high tide, water got too deep lol. But would’ve been better if I had a boat and rode up the ship channel and found sand bars on the banks. That’s where the flounder were at 🎣

Good stuff dude. That’s a good spot in a falling tide. Ida pushed the sandbars around a good bit and they’re still changing. You might want to get a sticker/ruler on your boat so you’ll always know what’s legal and what you need to throw back. I also take a paint maker and mark my poles with lengths so that I can measure fish wherever I am (including when surf fishing).
@PFDTV2 ай бұрын
@@doublethefunoutdoors I noticed that. Also with them putting those rocks along that area is making changes to that whole area. And yeah man it was frustrating because I forgot my measuring tool and I caught a lot more trout but was forced to throw them back because I didn’t wanna risk it 😂😂

That was a great day of catching right there. My wife loves flounder fishing, but I can't seem to find them right now here around the Hackberry area, any suggestions for this time of year? God bless and see you on the next one.
@PFDTV3 ай бұрын
Flounder this time of year gonna be in the marsh and bayous. I normally have the most luck when I’m fishing at the opening of a canals or bayou with the water comming out of it. You can also fish along the banks of bayous in the marsh that have a lot of baitfish hanging around. The flounder are feeding on them early in the morning

I recently purchased a Sundolphin American 12, my biggest complaint is how low the seats sit. I had an 11’ Coleman Crawdad plastic boat and the seats were much taller. I’ve had the Coleman for twenty years and still performs well. Hopefully I can do some mods to the Sundolphin and enjoy is as well. Great video btw!
