I hate fan bases making up names when the character already has one. This character not having any name leaves it open, I guess.

When I played Dark Souls 1 for the first time a few years ago i didnt even kniw that there was dlc included in the remaster so i went through the entire game thinking I did everything because there was no reason or hint at all that i was meant to come back to the Hydra area but i finally came back to DS1 a few years later and finally played through the game again along with the dlc and it was pretty good, I just wish they didnt make it near impossible to figure out without guides, at the very least the amber Golem should have been there at all times and you should be able to pick up the broken pendant at any time when you go through the Dukes Archives.

In my first ever playthrough the dlc was already out, but I figured it out somewhat easily on my own - but it was because of the reasons you mentioned. I often struggled to win fights so basically I’d save out after every win since it probably took me 20-30 minutes of stress and struggle, so I was essentially always reloading areas naturally. And Dusk never did shut up about her homeland, I was also reading every bit of dialogue or item description because god damn it I was lost at times. I remember finding the thing and then being like “how the hell do I get back to where dusk is…”

i played ds1 for the first time this week and i found it on my first blind run, i spent a lot of time going through darkroot because of the ladder behind the hydra, i was convinced there had to be something hidden around it or in the waterfall because i originally ignored the hydra then went up and around then tried to climb down behind the hydra and died, so I didn't understand the purpose of the ladder, later I found the pendant and just happened to go through the cove again because i was still convinced i missed something. I honestly didn't know it was an expansion, because it was kinda like siegmeyer's quest and the painting place in Anor Londo.

My only interaction with gravelording was finding this super low level dude in the giant set spamming gravelord sword dance, knocking him off of a cliff, and later getting summoned to help him fight a red. P cool mechanic if it was actually present for most of the game.

Personally, I would have loved Seek Guidance as a ring or maybe a helm you could equip - they did it with sunlight maggot after all, I feel they definitely could have done it with something like Seek Guidance even if it would make secret hunting fairly trivial in a game more like ds2.

It is mostly common knowledge among those who know any facts about crows to know crows will trade items for food and other things they want. There's not a single Hawk in Dark Souls. So I'd say crow easily stuck. People love crows.

From Soft released what you needed to do publicly days before the debut of the DLC. We already knew exactly what to do before the DLC even released. the page itself no longer exists since they took down the original Dark Souls website and made a new one. But it was very public info at the time if you followed From Soft.

@illusory wall DS2 (at least SotFS) invasion cooldown is 8m regardless of human/hollow. DS3 might be handled server-side, however it behaves in an interesting way: 1. By default, you cannot be invaded by red or mad phantoms, even if embered. 2. To enable invasions, you must do one of the following: A. Invade 8 times using the red eye orb. B*. Summon or get summoned, either through a sign or a covenant invasion. C. While embered, use the Dried Finger. D. Get invaded by a covenant invader (Watchdog of Farron or Aldrich Faithful). 3. Invasion priority seems to be a thing that's handled server-side, but it might be a placebo effect as well. Lobby priority isn't well understood. *If playing online, you're most likely to get invaded in Anor Londo. However, you can go through the side of Crucifixion Woods while not touching the water and completely avoid invasions until then.

I find this video super funny because i never once thought in my head that the bird girl in that nest as snuggly or sparkly because my first interaction with the group of npc was in 3 with the one that goes pickle pee and pump er rum so in my head theyre all pickle pee. Also I assumed the one in Dark souls is a crow solely because of the big crow and i feel like that tracks more because like in DeS where the birds flying nearby inform us of the type of nestling in the nest so should it in DaS. I just assumed a slightly smaller crow laid them

It does seem in the souls lore, due to it's ambiguity, there does seem to be a fair bit of assumptions turned into confirmations. Such as because a character states something it must be true, not really considering the character could be misinformed or outright lying, another being that because a mob drops a certain item it must be linked to this other mob, etc

The only cov. to even approach gravelording in terms of fun are dark souls 3's purple mad phantoms.
@illusorywall3 күн бұрын
I had some fun with it! But my biggest criticism with it was that I felt they needed to let them help hosts fight bosses, too. I know it'd be way too punishing to have them turn on you right before a boss is almost defeated, so I get why they didn’t allow it, but I've always imagined friendly fire getting turned off for them once they pass through a boss fog instead. It'd heighten the whole "help or hindrance" stakes to their summoning if their help could go even further. The Rat King Covenant is another post-DS1 covenant that deserves an honorable mention for doing something funny and interesting, I'll probably talk about that sometime too.

New fan of Dark souls since 2019: When I first played Dark Souls1 it was a fascinating experience. After I’ve finished the last boss and stopped playing, I sometimes went back and explored the areas for items I might’ve missed and areas I intentionally left until I beat the game. One of those areas was the hydra and the little water passage at the side of the cliff. I was really scared about approaching it, but eventually tried going forward. I’ve found the Crystal mob walking around from afar and wondered „hmm, that wasn’t here before?“ and cleared it. The crystal monster came as a hint to me to go back to the area where these monsters were normally spawning at. I cleared the whole area from 0-100 and eventually found the item or answer I was looking for. Now, with that item, I thought what to do with it. I went back to the beginning talked to every NPC again, travelled through EVERY SINGLE area and talked to every single npc present. The last place I missed out on intentionally was the original area for the DLC entrance. After I’ve had checked everything and found unexpected mini bosses, story lines and items, I came to the conclusion that my journey was not wrongly chosen. There was a reason, this game never directly told you where to go, you were free to find your own path which eventually leads you to the end. With many difficulties I’ve cleared the DLC and with a last bright smile, I’ve said goodbye to DS1 and started playing DS2. DS2 was one of my most favourite experiences on a souls-like game which I was gladly able to find in DS3 again. The level of difficulty just kept increasing but in the end Elden Ring felt like a soft wind compared to them in difficulty. It was more about the core storylines than the difficulty of the bosses I think. From Software is a GEM and I’m glad i talked myself into giving souls-like games a shot.
