As an aside, I have noticed several of these tractors listed for sale on Marketplace listed as "Massive Fergusons"..I wonder is that is some type of AI generated typo, or are people really thinking that is what they are?....

MF 135 here(not sure the year). One year after brother in law died when he flipped it on himself, I finally got around to seriously trying to get it running again and drove it half mile or so to get it back to his property. Been on cousin’s all this time. Complete novice on tractors but it’s finally home on his 47th birthday. Being that it was flipped for 3 or 4 hours, everything ran out. No hydraulics available so had to leave bottom plows (for now) and couldn’t get out first gear. Can I likely just fill and check hydro fluid to get that part to work.
@rustedpliers16184 ай бұрын
Sorry to hear that story about your brother in law. Alot of people who aren't around this stuff don't realize how difficult and dangerous it is operating the farm equipment that feeds the world and takes care of our lands. The next tractor I buy will have roll bars as a precautionary. Checking the fluid and adding some if needed would be a good start. It has to have enough fluid to run through the hydraulic pumps.

An experience I found from someone else with similar issues "I have a LA145 that Has 715 hours on it and lately it started slowing down almost to a stop on hills and would speed back up when the ground leveled out. The belt was replaced back in the spring. After watching countless videos about this symptom I bought a rebuild kit from the hydrostatic transmission and installed it Last weekend. Bled it out and jumped on it and guess what? It was doing the same thing as before. What it ended up being was the pulley on the input shaft. It wasn't stripped but it was badly worn in the v. I replaced it this morning, and now it climbs those hills like a billy goat! Just wanted to throw this out there for other viewers to see before they shell out $476 on a rebuild kit when a $21 pulley was all it was." I had one and gave it away. It was the most frustrating machine I've ever owned. It was impossible to keep a belt on it, and the belts aren't easy to replace. I would spend an hour and a half replacing the belt and as soon as I tried to engage the blades, it would throw the belt again, or just break it. The factory was no help. The machine had other issues and the last I heard the company was in bankruptcy. I HATED THAT MACHINE!!!

When you cant get parts or service, It's understandable that they went out of buisness. I haven't had to replace the belts yet but had to weld the wheel bracket because they turned inward.

I am 67 years old now. Had many mowers. The D130 I have brought in 2012 and run hard, been trouble free. At 450 hours it move great for 20 mins and slows down when it's getting warm up. It's has lasted better than any other mower and will keep buying JD if possble. Biggest thing is trouble free. As of now I mow a bit and let it cool down. I have a hilly 2 ar yard. It may be better to buy a new one as getting the trans rebuild would be costly. There is also a recall on some JD mower due to trans problems . Tenn hills are hard on a mower.
