Government is WAY TOO INVOLVED in this process.

On the flipside, there can be great support of the idea that sending kids to a school system, apart from the family connection and security, causes abuse and sense of abandonment in children.

We homeschooled preK then placed our child in school Kindergarten 3 months late. He was placed in a K/1st grade class so he could help out the 1st graders. We ended up pulling him out of school back to homeschooling because the socialization was not a positive outcome. So now there are bad habits we have to mop up. It’s a blessing to see your kids faces when they understand new material. It’s wonderful.

Hi! I have friends who keep saying that if you never have had your child in any form of school outside the home, then testing is not required for them. Just wondering if you know anything about this? I have a friend whose daughter is going into 5th grade (with suspected dyslexia) and they have never done any testing for her and the mom thinks it’s not required since they homeschooled from the start. I was discussing this with her as I have heard rumors that you don’t have to test, but everything I can find says we have to test at the end of grade 3, 5, 8, and 10, so that’s what I plan to do unless I read in the law otherwise. But since she is past that date for her oldest and is coming up on the date for her 2nd child, I’m concerned she will have an issue. Any help is appreciated!

First, this is most likely a fake video. No identifying info is given, and he peddles generalities. Second, when people need help they never request it. They demand it be provided immediately and then attack the "government" for not knowing they needed help.

Your right ! That is a very destructive and wrong narrative . Thank you for voicing this ! May I add I observe this on a somewhat smaller scale within the church , in youth groups and children ministry . Bothers me .

My state is fairly easy on homeschoolers, but I am a member because I have an out of state family member who isn't homeschool friendly.

HELP😭🙏🏼 My oldest is going into high school this upcoming year. My husband & I are praying & trying to figure out what to do. His goal is to play college ball. He's played competitive select ball since he was 7. My husband & my main concerns right now are logistics. How we are going to get him to baseball practice every day when I have 4 other kids I'm homeschooling. We're considering a hybrid private school since he would already be there for school, it would be easier. Mama doesn't want to let him go just yet😓 I'm very torn. I would be so grateful for your advice🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Advocating for freedom means we assert parents know best and should have the authority to fulfill the responsibility. It shouldn’t mean advocating for government money, which will just gives the power to regulate it to the very people we homeschooled to avoid.
