So I talked to my buddy today. So you’ll have to keep in mind he’s got 37 or 38 inch tall tires and somewhat has a heavy foot 🦶. He said he did notice about a 2.3 mpg gain after the install.

The Chevy small block is not an interference motor. If the gear strips your stuck but a new gear and chain the motor runs fine.

I'd say you did everything right before it started, except I'm pretty sure you flooded it out. Luckily it wasn't real bad or else those plugs would be shot. Noticed the engine was missing some but did manage to pull out of it. And yeah, never start a engine with tranny lines off, soon as it starts tranny fluid is all over in a matter of seconds. The fluid flows thru those lines even in park.

Glad to see the work moving forward again! And just to confirm, there was no leak on that driver side line; that was penetrating oil around the connection between the hose and solid line?

Yes I am very happy to finally start working on it again. you are probably not aware but the reason there was a dip in videos is because I was hit by a DUI driver, so I was pretty banged up for a few months. So I am finally healthy enough to get back to work

Regarding the brake line, that is correct what you saw was the penetrating oil. No leak. between the hose and the sold line

Can I ask you a question? Is it possible to put a flex plate on backwards? And if it is backwards will it cause any damage to the transmission or engine?

@@sharmasteeltv8494 yes it’s possible to put it on backwards it probably wouldn’t line up good with the starter and it’s probably it could damage the pump in the transmission if the converter is not in its proper location

That cable next to your transmission is your speedometer cable -the wire with the plug is for your lockup converter in the transmission the brackets are for your shifter that flat bracket bolts to the pan like you were thinking and the others go to the shifter nub on the side of the transmission. You should have a this nut to bolt that on and a small clip to attach the shift cable to those brackets that bolt on with that thin nut. Check your wires on the distributor cap make sure the tach wire is plugged in- if it’s not that may be why the tachometer isn’t working

Well thanks for clearing that up, appreciate it! The Tac appears to be working fine. Only thing I saw on the instrument panel not working was the Temp gauge. I’ll have to diagnose that next time I work on the car.

Having the gas ⛽️ filler neck in the middle probably makes trip to the gas station real easy. You can just park on any side.
