You have been so instrumental in my life currently… I was in the throws of tarot buying addiction. In that dark tunnel, this channel was the light I needed. I am very grateful to you than you will ever know. I watch and rewatch all you videos because I need that… I need the authenticity. I don’t need answers… I need people like you, in whom I see myself and also genuinely feel like I am not alone in feeling these things. Thank you so so so much Stephanie! I love you ❤. Thank you for your genuine communication and support ❤

Also - sheer number of voices. YES. Can you recommend any other dumb phone creators that you've enjoyed, even if they're not still creating?
@MixtressRaeКүн бұрын
Harmony Nice, Ashton Womack, Captain Airyca, Jose Briones, and Terry Grier have made some interesting content surrounding dumb phones. There's also a bigger channel called "Digging the Greats" that just put out a series about more mindful internet usage that was really cool.

I love the discoveries you are making and how many of the issues have been the device itself. I know that people often do online fast or whatever, but it's a new and interesting concept to me that just taking away the phone - creating that one barrier - can be a good compromise. I say this bc, as an introvert, I do have some connections online that I haven't found elsewhere (other witches as an example) that I feel like I would miss if I stepped completely away. But it's true that I actually prefer a keyboard to screen texting anyway and I don't connect with them in my groups via my phone. Also, I hate the way that on all of the other scrolling platforms, I'll often get some horridly sad visual story - usually about an animal - from some organization looking to raise money or even some sort of rescue story, maybe with a happy ending, but unless I watch the video (which I don't want to do), I'm just left with a tragic image which is often really hard for me to shake. I've really been thinking about eliminating those apps for that reason. I liked IG in the beginning. Now I rarely see anyone I actually follow and none of it is personal; it's all product placement. I'll keep following your journey. Thanks for sharing and inviting us to think about alternatives!

It's been such a gift to watch you over the years. So much of KZbin feels like an echo chamber of ideas to me. People SAY they are going to do whatever the trendy "fix me" thing is, but never follow through/do the work. You've been doing the work and carving your own authentic path. And we have so many videos documenting your journey. It's inspiring to see. Thank you for sharing!

i like your point of view! in this culture to go without smartphone is a bit of a challenge on so many levels.. And a true act of rebellion. but i think in near future people will be seeking alternative for having smartphone, manifesting more as a mainstream thing. Especially younger generation, since they were glued to it from early age and they will get tired of it at some point…As of right now, people are a bit oblivious about the alternative to not having smartphone. Maybe some tech companies will come up with something alternative… I personally really miss days before all that digital-smart era. Everything seemed more real, personal and grounded. We owned those objects, not viseversa

I read a book called Lonely Cities, its about loneliness analysed through artists including Andy wharhol. It seems Andy was literally the modern person in terms of his relationship to tech in order to distance himself from himself.

Super fun to see your process. As someone who grew up in the 80s, I can tell you that the cover of your magazine is not Brooke, but Paulina Porizkova. Another supermodel back in the day 😉

@@MixtressRae Now you're extra equipped with Supermodel knowledge for an 80s trivia night! And that cover! Girl had some TALL hair. You know, when you're in the midst of it, you just don't notice how extreme the fashion and hair was. But, you know, we had just gotten mousse for hair - something other than hairspray or gel. Then a whole host of new products. It was bound to happen.

The bravery to share the way you do and stand up against the storm is something I honestly admire. I totally get how you love your devices souls and I loved what you said in occultea that as soon as the platform is free, we are the product. It made me laugh and think a lot :)

yes yes YES! more art! im deranged for art!! you're drawings from high school have such a stylistic zing to them. i love seeing art from people's childhood because there is always something so special about novicehood and what it yields. i always wish i could go back to that part of my art journey, especially just by mindset. i love your more recent collage too! i love that the central figure seems to be looking back at the screen and echoing what they are seeing on it. or maybe they are seeing their honest and purest actions reflected back at them in a misunderstood way? it's really evoking a lot of thoughts. and how the piece guides my eyes is really fun. you have so much talent!

You’re really killing this look! 🔥 I’m doing a No-Buy July for all hobby purchases since I do compulsively shop sometimes and forget to appreciate what I have. Stationery, tarot, and clothes are the biggest temptations here. Have to pause the buying cycle so I can breathe and remember what I already have, and/or to make what I have WORK for me. Cool for you that your favorite perfume is your own creation!

Wanted to watch this as soon as it came up, but didnt have the time to actually listen. So had to wait, but now here I am. It is a funky time for sure, My patience has been so frigging low, and just yesterday I told a dear friend that I didnt want him to come over cuz I was feeling like fresh poo I've never wanted kids, Im 44 and lost my mother in January, since my birthday i may I've had this deep grief of not having a child, a feeling I never thought I would feel, since it was always a very active choice not too have a child (past life trauma), but somehow losing my own mother made me really feel the emptyness of that choice. Where i live IVF is legal untill you are 47 but the stats show that out of 100 ivf treatments, 15 become heartbeat and out of those 15 0 living children was born last year - so I stand in this limbo of knowing that, and all the reasons for my choice not to have kids and time. Anyways

nice to watch this. i think Sword4 in the moon power deck is based on that card being about reflecting, considering how your next moves could play out, rather than look at Sword4 as primarily being about “rest.“ i like to think of the RWS Sword4 image as being narrated by the slain knight the tomb belongs to, who changed his mind & doesn’t feel like he died for a good cause anymore.

Loved this. I have a very strong bond to this deck and have always found it hard to full articulate it. So hearing someone else explain theirs is always fascinating to me. Even if it wasn't a love affair, I still find it such a curious and interesting thing when such time has been spent with a deck. I feel like TWU Indies are very hardy cardstock. Also some of my old school us games. They all have those tinged yellow loved edges haha. It's often how you can tell my faves.

I love this deck (I also missed its hype heyday). It is brilliant in its subtlety and simplicity. For instance, in the Moon card you cant see the ground, only the tops of the trees. It gives a subtle feeling of being ungrounded like you cant quite get your bearings. Same with the Tower card. Things like that are what I love about this deck. Also, the Wheel of Fortune is one of my favorite depictions of that card ever.
