Mike Mc Cloud has left Key West for good. He moved to Arizona to retire.

There are places in this country that are special and will never be duplicated. The schooner wharf bar when Michael plays is one of them. My old guitar playing self has been going to the keys for 25 years and I discovered this guy one afternoon many years ago. Probably heard him hundreds of times and was never disappointed. You can pay hundreds of dollars to go to a concert and not get what Michael served up for decades. Free. He would weave a web of melancholy and humor that was like an LSD trip. When I was last down there I heard he was retiring. Fuck. Never again will the Schooner be the same. I will miss him. If you were lucky enough to see him you know. God bless.
