Router with a fence works too, we have found we get less chip out and a cleaner cut with the table saw in our experience
@damionbrown9132Ай бұрын
Why not use a router to do that
@aliengranpaАй бұрын
Ok ... but how can you untwist one that is severely twisted but doesn't have any breaks and still works?
@contemporarywoods243Ай бұрын
We haven’t found a way to un twist the strands, once a cord gets that much use in our shop we retire it and get a new cord, as usually the rest of the cord sheath and ends are starting to wear as well
@aliengranpaАй бұрын
@contemporarywoods243 yeah that's the conclusion I came to as well. I did find it you leave it completely unwound for awhile (days) it starts to straighten out, but becomes a tangled mess in the process.

Won’t that piece be three inches minus the blade width if you are using the fence ruler and not the crosscut sled ruler?
@wilcogrundens90863 ай бұрын
The measure strip on that side compensates for that. I rarely use the rip fence. The body position is no good. There is a technique for ripping with slider using stops and clamps, or go to cabinet saw. Always use the clamps when behind the fence.
@aberbaАй бұрын
I would think mostly using the slider is what this saw is designed for. Some cabinet saw habits maybe @@wilcogrundens9086

Good video. I have the same gun and found much the same results. I always found that it doesn't really pull a joint together. I'm probably doing it wrong but for me it kind of introduced a 1/32 gap pretty consistently. FYI it's called a "senclamp" and it's still produced to today, unmodified as far as I can tell and goes for around $700. Mine lives in a very similar drawer and gets used occasionally because it's cool.

I had to set up the panel saw at my Menz Shed yesterday. I could use a t-slot and DTI to adjust the fence, which was 0.2mm closer to the blade at the far end of the fence. Being a panel saw it has a travelling carriage with an adjustable fence at the back at 90° to the blade. I'd made a solid adjustable stop for this fence so it could be mitred, and return to 90°, but I couldn't think of any way to do this other than to use a big square. So I'd taken in my own framing square and a big engineer square. I didn't even think to check before adjusting, but after setting up with the framing square, I checked with the engineer square, and it was miles out. I bet there was the best part of a millimeter gap in the 500mm length of the square! The Shed had three framing squares, which turned out to be worse than mine - and one of them was steel. Anyway, I heard of the trick you used, but not tried it, so I'll let you know if I can fix my squares. BTW I bought a so called precision square from Bangood a while back, and the legs were not even parallel, so that's the first thing I'll be checking.

Curious that you are adjusting the out feed table. The out feed is the constant from the factory that everything else is set to , I.E. referencing off of. The knives are adjusted to match the out feed table and the in feed table is adjusted to match, be co-planer, to the out feed table.
@contemporarywoods2438 ай бұрын
This jointer had been moved several times and the end of the outfeed had dropped on the end so every pass we made we had a crooked cut, but after the shims and fix we have a lot straighter board

THANK YOU for actually showing the type of spreader you used (and how, with the wood) to PUSH pulleys apart for tension......Nobody wants to show the hard part...getting the motor BACK to right spot properly tensioned...(Just bought a bar spreader)....some people have shown popping belt around pulley to get on which i don't want to do....Very Helpful video

It would be a better presentation if you understood how the machine worked before making a video. Assuming the fence is factory square is a big mistake. Take a scrap sheet and make a five sided cut to verify the accuracy. My K 940 s required squaring on both fence positions. The entire machine needed adjustments to make accurate cuts. Good luck with your new machine. Paul

Thanks @paulebender for the good feedback, we did square up the fence using the 3 cut method, it was slightly out of square. Overall we are thrilled with the ability and accuracy of this saw compared to our old cabinet saw and panel saw

What if I don’t have that much space to fit the clip in my Blum hinge?

We have had that problem in the past, our issue was from the hinge bit being sharpened to many times which reduced the hole size

Suggestion: Stop using the home-made lazy susan. Just use the furniture dolly since it already turns on all four wheels. Just make sure that it's centered. You're gonna end up using it to transport anyway; one two less steps putting it on and taking it off the lazy susan.
@contemporarywoods2432 жыл бұрын
This is a great suggestion! Less transportation

Do you need to do both hinges or just the one?
@contemporarywoods2432 жыл бұрын
Depending on the size and weight of the door is how many you need, narrow and tall doors (10” wide and 30” tall) only need 1 really. As soon as you install in 1 hinge you can get a feel for how many you need.
