New Years Countdown more important in the world because after Auld Lang Syne, the country's national anthem will be sung and the National flag will be projected and we all sing our national anthem. For Singapore, at 12.10 am, 10 minutes after midnight.

That countdown party doesn't end until this was sung with ghasto (after Auld Lang Syne): "Mari kita rakyat Singapura..." also sung at pubs and cafes in Singapore minutes after yelling 'Happy New Year'

Der Großman ,yes globophobia is good reason not to be around for a balloon drop. So is having a latex allergy. It still amazes me how many people that appear to have a fear of balloons, stick around for them to drop. But once the balloons hit the floor, they’re out of there. I’ve always wondered what made them (ppl with globophobia) stick around for the actual drop though. Maybe they’re facing their fear? I don’t know. I’ve never chased someone down and asked.

The Balloon Drop Hub being there makes it even worse it does not help when somebody has globophobia to overcome it !
