I like to say that pool is just like chess except that you have to toss the pieces and hope they land on the correct square.

Following the match and watching the stream, it was easy to want to focus on what did not go well with both my decisions regarding positioning and execution of shots. This thinking could lead me into a results focused mindset which could take out the pure enjoyment of playing pool. Instead, after watching it through a second time, I realize what a great learning opportunity this is to help me grow my game/skills while enjoying the process. I can see it as a positive experience……….so appreciative to have the chance for play by play analysis by one of the best players and instructors around the game. Thanks Josh, you make learning and playing pool an amazing experience!

@SlateBilliardClub I Think it should be a reminder to Stay Down Just Let it be Part of our Pre Shot Routine Because it is so IMPORTANT To Stay Down Also Try This Put 15 Balls On The Table Take,Ball in hand pocket ball and STAY DOWN NOT ONLY TILL. OBJECT BALL GOES IN ALSO WAIT TILL CUE BALL STOPS DO THIS AS OFTEN AS NEEDED IT WILL DEFINITELY BE WHAT YOU NEED

Nice would definitely hit a low right stun for this shot, that roll into the line instead of crossing the line position can definitely be counter intuitive some times, so that’s some good pool wisdom right there thanks.
@stephenpaul277720 күн бұрын
Wow stance looks really good and that was a great stroke, if you wanna know if your stance is good your chin should be about 6 inches from the joint minimum and your right forearm should point to the ground in front of your right foot or in between both legs, but also be natural and find out what works for you I just analyzed a good amount of pros and there’s seems to be a pattern like this.

Makes sense especially because of the composition needed aka you probably have to hit the ball thicker or thiner which will actually change the tangent line and mess up position all together but instead just take the close to your work or get creative and like bump the ball or something or be a pro and play three rails😂
@stephenpaul277726 күн бұрын
That’s me stunning to hard with the rattle sometimes or slow rolling the ball trying to hold position missing it thick, so good advice here.

That stroke is flawless 😍 I'm still trying to find that stroke for long-distance object balls.
@procrastinator690225 күн бұрын
Same here. I've finally gotten to where I can generate the speed to get the ball to come back, but I almost always inadvertently get a little side spin added.
@BooksNGuns25 күн бұрын
@procrastinator6902 EXACTLY! Of late, I've been finding success with a full pause at the back, but that's only a bandaid. I need to figure out the stroke. All experienced players seem to agree that until you figure out your stroke, you can forget to practice anything else. So, I've decided to tear apart my entire stroke and start over. My elbow drops too much. Although I've found a lot of success with the elbow drop, I know it needs to be fixed.

The most important thing about this video is not holding the cue too tightly, if your cue lifts off your bridge after hitting any shot you are holding the cue too tightly
