To be honest, I don't use any safety measures 🙈😂. I'm just well experienced, been doing it for years, so know my way around slate mines and metal mines quite well. I'll rig myself to ropes if going to be doing something dangerous, but all in all the only accident I've had is fractured ribs after slipping in snow covered slate 🙈

Hi Chris, a brilliant look at another old mine, you don't see that many Manganese mines on KZbin so it was nice to look at this one. How cool to see those old steps, I agree that nothing is made to last anymore, the miners certainly knew how to make things that would be strong and would last. I loved that old felt hat, so amazing to see it still mostly intact in such a harsh environment. Thank you for sharing, much love to you and Emily. xx 🥰

Great mine explore, I've not been in. When I was 5 or so, I wanted to explore every hole in the ground. I did manage to talk my parents into looking into a couple of adits. At about 10 Mum took the family to look at the manganese mines behind Barmouth and I also got a look in the main adit of Gwynfydd. I'm not able to explore much now but have a total of more than 80, 000 hours underground, working, guiding and exploring and loved every minute. Keep up the good work but don't do videos at the expense of your relationship. God bless

Ive known about the mines behind Barmouth, but have never visited them, only St David's gold mine a few miles from Barmouth in Bontddu. I definitely won't let videos get in the way of my relationship, just I'll have to produce a video every other week instead of weekly, or make 2 the weekend Emily works. 😊

@@Mr44strong if you walk up the incline that goes up from Maenofferen mill, you can stay on the Rhiwbach tramway which will take you directly to Rhiwbach, past a nice lake and also Cwt-Y-Bugail slate mine, which in itself a nice mine to visit, especially if you can climb down to the bottom level. Very picturesque especially in a sunny day when sun shines in through the open chambers and gives spectacular lighting for the bottom level and the flooded chamber 👌

I love your vids. Always watch them. I was at st davids college llandudno back in the 80s 4 years an also went to eirias for one year at 12 years old. Lived at colwyn bay. Rhosydd mine is brilliant. Would love go back in there but darnt go it alone. Is most of main bits of the mine fairly safe like main tunnel adit 9. I remember at 14 yrs old with a group my age clambering up steep hills to get to the mine in the rain. Once in there a long trip down adit 9 in water. Caverns to the left huge. I remember where it forks off left an right but vague memories after that. Some flooded shafts with blue ish water very deep, an a deep lake. We had crawl under a gap known as cheese press in rhosydd then over a large drop cables an harness to explore chambers over the other side. Eventually to get out we climbed up old slate heap, an out in the open. I think that must have been west twill. I'll contact you one day if we could have a little walk in there.
