This is great. Many thanks for posting. I love a narrow swath of country music and this is part of it. Unfortunately, most of what I hear and see today is just crap. Guys with big hats and boots tryin to sound legit with phony forced nasal and crappy lyrics.

Great job singing the songs so clearly I now know the words that Robin didn’t sing clearly enough for me to catch- certainly is one of the most tragic stories of fame ever - I love the songs he wrote they catch some tough times in my early life perfectly like he lived the same crap I did- caught fire in a bottle - we all lost 😢something very special when we lost Doug.

Awesome tribute. Charlie was my gateway to the genre. Fall of ‘99 with My Hometown. My music tastes were changed forever. I will always be in his debt for that. RIP man.

The turning the tuner down as you play is cool..the difficulty is you have to get back to the note you started with..sometimes the guitar might not cooperate..he never misses.

First time I caught Charlie was at Hills Cafe on South Congress in Austin sometime in the 2000s. I grew up in South Austin and Hills Cafe was a big part of South Austin. It went away for a bit then came back for a bit. Hills had a free show during one of the week nights...thinking Thursday nights. I had heard Charlie was playing from a friend who wanted to go, so I did. I knew he was kind of a big thing already by then. Turns out he was a cool laid back Dude that made great Americana music. It was kind of an informal setting, turned out to be a packed house in the courtyard behind the Cafe. Charlie engaged with everyone, and everyone that was there were engaged with Charlie. Hills Cafe, a South Austin icon is gone now along with Charlie Robison, a South Texas music icon. Still, that night at Hills Cafe with Charlie Robison will always be one of those nights I will never forget. Great tribute, great cause in his name. RIP Charlie Robison.

Why is it that when I hear this, my brain starts thinking "Out in the country past the city limit sign..."?, hahahahaha! Boot Scootin' Boogie came out in 1991, Crazy Over You came out in 1987...now they're for sure different songs with different melody lines, and the chord changes in them don't match exactly, but they're both in the key of E, and have the same shuffle...a band could completely mash/ medley them up with ease...cool song, men! Thanks to Foster and Lloyd, and the people at Texas Music Scene TV for posting this one, and hope you and yours are doing great!

I had difficulty hearing the words above the background music, tone the background down, you have a sweet voice but not volume. I listen to you on 'Willys roadhouse' . you have a great talent! Keep the faith.

Just heard this for the first time on TV and I knew instantly it was about recovery among other things but I just had to tell you that I think this was the best song I've heard all year! I love your sound all together, and the vulnerability I hear in your voice made me listen on repeat! I guess I finally found the catchy but raw words I'd been searching for to explain my life in the realest way ❤ you found ur calling for sure!
