Everyone should call the non emergency (annoyance line) or the airport whenever they hear and see one one of these noisy polluters flying around making a racket. Hopefully the FAA will start requiring these guys to follow the same regulations as other motorized aircraft. How long have you been building? Your construction looks first rate! Nicely done! I know there is a lot of machining of fittings and components in the design, did you do all that in your shop? What engine are you using? Did I see you’re planning on using Oratex? Sorry if you’ve answered these in another post, I’m just going through your videos (after subbing). Great work!

@onedoodadyoung6 ай бұрын
thanks, the plans for the outer tapered ribs have the twist drawn in. so I calculate the rise and make sure that it is correct from the spar to the trailing edge for each rib and that the trailing edge is straight. I believe that the airfoil is the same. The right wing is done now and on to the left!

I wanted to be able to take off and get to thermal altitude on one charge. I designed this from the minimum system. I have now sold it to fund the Piuma. I am 72 and needed an easier way to soar.

1. What type of polyurethane sealant do you apply? Do the plans specify that? 2. The overlap scarf joint is also new for me...do you thin down only the top layer or both...?
@onedoodadyoung7 ай бұрын
I like Mimwax from Lowe's, I brush on the larger surfaces and spray the hard to get to areas like ribs. all books on building with wood says to seal all your wood inside to protect it from wood rot and mold The project manual calls this out. The scarf joint is a taper 15 to 1 . 1mm thick plywood = 15 mm wide. EAA has some good books that covers building with wood.
