I’ve lived in Valle Real for almost 7 years. That house is typical, almost cookie cutter. To be honest, you don’t;t get much for your money nowadays. Very very few homes, even in places like Valle Real have anything more than a postage stamp sized lot. You can expect tp pay between $500k and $1m USD just for the piece of dirt before you build a house, and that’s pretty average for that area.

Is that 36 million pesos? That's like 3 million Canadian. Seems like a lot. I'm coming into the city next week to do some house shopping, just trying to get an idea of prices

I came here because 2 motorcyclist snatched my partner’s phone as we were trying to order Uber near the Cathedral church. We were terrified and didn’t know how to act at the moment. We had 20 minutes to go to the hotel and mark the phone as lost. I do believe that this was coordinated and they had to have information yesterday to get the phone. Whether it’s Uber or aids near by, why the city of Guadalajara doesn’t trap them? Why there can’t be an operation to catch these thieves?

I looked at places in San Miguel that were more expensive than they would been in western states of IS except for SoCal and SanFran
@nextchaptermexico3283 Жыл бұрын
Depending on where in SMA you are shopping….yes, it can be just as expensive as th US or more so. I havent shopped in SMA in the last year. I suspect there are still many properties very reasonably priced…but the ones walkable to Centro are going to be premium.

The fireworks “burning man” is called a Castillo. Very traditional during celebrations. I remember them when I was a kid. They even do it for weddings. Neighborhood & town & city & state festivals are also traditional so you’d have several over the year. Sadly, I think there are fewer now. I think people more busy working. The daily parade of locos reminds me of New Orleans were they have similar in neighborhoods for days and days before carnavale.

Poinsett was an egregious interventionist - no matter what era no sovereign country in the history of man wants a foreign“ special agent” joining military ranks and crafting legislation as Poinsett did in Argentina and Chile before heading to Mexico and doing the same thing. Mexico viewed Poinsett with suspicion because there had already been another interventionist clown 🤡 10 years prior named William Shaler recruiting Louisiana what are called American “ filibusters” to join insurgents named Gutierrez and Magee to take down an established foreign sovereign government and again …wanting Texas. That’s why the viceroyalty of new Spain banned any US citizens from settling in Texas

I wanted to know do they have models that are furnished so you can get Ideas on how it looks with furniture. I was looking in Las Vegas also. They are really building a lot out there. But it seems like the prices are going up on New Homes. The interest rates are high now to. Once you go out there to see the home it is like the next day the price goes up. No Thanks!!

My doctor is Asian, he went to school at the University of Mexico in Mexico City to study to become a doctor. He is an excellent Doctor who speaks three languages including Spanish. I have a cousin who went to the same University and received his doctrine and now lives in New York City working for a hospital. He is third generation Mexican American.

And my heart goes out to your little girl....how awful that she was so scared by all that constant noise. I always feel sorry for pets when it comes to the loud sounds from fireworks, thunder, parades etc. They don't understand what's happening, they just know they are scared to death.

Did you drive between these cities? Did you drive into Mexico from the US? If so, is driving safe?
@nextchaptermexico3283 Жыл бұрын
ive driven extensively in Mexico. ive driven from McAllen Texas to San Miguel d A a number of times. “Safe” is a relative term. I have lived for years in New Orleans. in terms of crime, I honestly feel as safe in Mexico as New Orleans. despite recent events, I still plan to drive through Tamaulipus which is absolutely beautiful from Victoria south. the safety of actually operating a motor vehicle is a different matter. driving on the toll roads is generally better for safety because the roads are often four lanes and require less passing…which works VERY differently in Mexico. but the toll roads are kind of boring in terms of scenery. finally, although I have had no encounters with corrupt cops, I do believe this is something one should think through before driving.

@@nextchaptermexico3283 I understand, I lived in a drug infested section of Washington DC for 11-years. I actually had to dodge gun fire more than once. However I was 35 years old & an urban pioneer. Made a small fortune on a rehab/resale. Today I'm 69. I understand putting on your "game face" and being aware of your surroundings. I was just in Queretaro and San Miguel de Allende. I felt very safe, but I had a driver. I want to come down for a month or more every year in winter, but not sure I want to drive....THANKS!

Yeah, It's been a few months. I'm not sure if the house is still on the market, but it was late last year. The good thing about Ajijic is you are very close to a couple of town famous for their furniture production and distribution. Not so much the case, where I am now.
