according to todd, reserving theaters (imax) and seeing what competitor releases that don't affect the sales of this movie that come out around the same time. I guess its being cautious since the first didn't do well (fan wise) but money aside, if this doesn't, we won't see a third.

@@sharkrealmdamn man that sucks…. I didnt hate the first one like a lot of the people. I definitely see potential in this being a really good MK cinematic universe if they really listen to fan criticism to improve upon the mistakes of the first film. Would really be devastating to see it get canned like a lot of other failed universes.

So apparently there was a test screening of the movie. Considering they set it a year and a half away which is abnormal for a completed movie, it's not a good sign. I'm willing to bet we'll hear about substantial rewrites and reshoots in the near future. WB also did not mention mortal kombat during during cinemacon during their 2025 line up so it sounds like they don't have any faith in it being good.

theyre probably being extra cautious cos if this movie doesn't do well, WB wont greenlight a 3rd. and it'll probably be the end of mk at that point

@@sharkrealm I do wonder how the hype will be with the average audience. Many people didn't like the first so I wonder how many will give the sequel a chance. I do really hope for the best, but I'm worried on this one.

This can't be real news unless todd officially confirms it,so we don't have no teasers not even full clear looks at some of the costumes and fans have to wait til next year in Oct they better hope nothing delays it like another strike or a pandemic me i believe it will be released around jan or February of 2025,the film has wrapped months ago and to be released so late of next year is pretty far away if they are so sure that will delay it,thats my opinion but that's to far away if any later of 2025 would be march the latest,and right now they don't have any setbacks or holdups unless some of the actors or other problems came up making the movie,but October 2025 i wonder what all the fans feel about this and not just a few who don't mind waiting that long

It's an official press release from WB so it's a real announcement. That is the release date unless they decide to move it up. Unfortunately, you should temper your expectations to Oct of 2025. Idk why they decided to wait that long either.

@pggalantd I just hope nothing delays this movie like another pandemic or strike or worst,I'm just looking at the reality of it all and this movie better be over 2hrs if they cram everything under 2hrs it's going to feel like that should be enough to satisfy fans but I'm not wasting my expectations now maybe once I see the trailer and if it lives up to the hype than I can see a October release date but for now my excitement level went down dramatically, just saying

@@cheyennecelius I agree with you all the way. My biggest worry is they have so many characters, I think it's going to feel very rushed. They got a much better writer on board, but the director is still a rookie and balancing that many characters is tough for anyone to do. We also don't know what studio mandates there are behind the scenes. For instance, the character, Cole Young was created as a studio mandate which is ridiculous.

@sharkrealm still to far away in a sense I understand it doesn't want to compete with other movies, but come on Oct at least release it in the latest March I'm just hoping nothing happens and it gets delayed than they push it til 2026 or 2027,that's my main concern than fans will get tick off and wonder u had time and now this and than delay it so oct is just way to far not telling what may happen by than

I'm actually surprised it's that far out. October is a great release month for it though. Downside to is that I don't think we're going to see anything for it until summer next year.

Depends on what is done with him in the film tbh. At least Scorpion will be in the film alot longer than he was in MK 1995 and MK Annihilation combined.

It's good you pointed out the actors really don't have much of the inside info on editing and release dates. I don't think there's any chance of it releasing this year. They didn't even tease it at Cinema-Con as an upcoming movie. I still think it'll be quarter 1 of 2025 though.

I doubt 2026 I don't think fans want to wait that long especially sine they are already wrapped with the FIM but if this year maybe around Thanksgiving or around Christmas but if 2025 no later than early Feb probably around the superbowl or afterwards

That nitara scene was bonkers, I was so eagre to see her and her fighting style…until….😅. I hope we have more fights, mystical powers, edenia and all the other realms, as much as i liked him, kano should stay dead if thats what sonya did, cant give him a cybernetic eye if she stabbed him.

WB usually doesn't show trailers until around 3 months prior to release. I don't think we're going to get one for a while since the movie isn't coming out this year.

When he said 10 minutes in, 10 minutes out, I believe he was just talking about the first movie. He doesn't know how it'll fall in line with the editing but it'll be a small, integral role. I think they need to do a Shira Ryu vs Lin Kuei movie after this. They could cover the history of the factions, fueds and it would make a ton of money starring scorpion and Bi-Han.

@@FatDudeStudios For one simple reason. *Canon Foreigner* trope. Meaning that Cole Young was _never a thing before 2021 movie came out._ And the whole narrative revolving around him - giving him the most spotlight. When it should be iconic MK characters most of the time. Think *Ahsoka Tano* of _Star Wars: The Clone Wars_ - but significantly worse than that.

Hope this is better then the last film, Raiden was nothing more then a terrible travel agent who couldn't protect his own temple, Sub Zero was the worst assassin to ever live, CONFIRM YOUR KILL😳 CONFIRM YOUR FUCKING KILLS, That's gotta be 101 in the Assassin book for dumbies. Kung Lao got his soul sucked... 😳😳😳😳 Um...i have questions, Was P Diddler in the room while meek mills or Cheek n' Heels in the corner watching with purposeful sexual desire in his eyes? Sonya learns how to master her Arcana in seconds whuch I know Hollyworld and the world favours women more then men, while Hollywood loves suggesting women are better but like damn, She had a faster transition then your standard Trans wanting attention, even Caitlyn Jenner would be like "Really girl... Really"?. The fights after the first Scorpion and sub were trash, Fucking Sonya does another Transition "Is she trans or nah" move where she jumps in the air towards reptile, Spins catching a knife midair transitioning into reptile from across the damn room... Like what? Does Soyna even need a Arcana at this point? Kano is the best part of the film and they took him out. I'm more disappointed by Travel guide... There are enemies in your temple who can watch your fighters trains from the other side of the weakest forcefield and you're first thought is to stay put??? What?, Then there's Goro... Man, he's the perfect definition of "Don't speak about it, be about it". This man held Cole up and told him he would rip him apart... Continued to just hold Cole up and do nothing for 2 minutes looking deeply into his eyes like P Diddler does to Meek them cheek nightly 🤣
