Walker Gears should have been taller or had some proper seat. Bouncing around in that posture is going to kill your back and be agonizing. Try getting into that hunched position and see how your back feels. Then imagine bouncing along with the footsteps. This is like amateur hour design. The guy can design Sahelanthropus, but this is the best he could do with a Walker Gear?

my favorite way of using quiet will always be to tell her to take aim on an enemy with helmet, and when I deliberately shoot off the enemy’s helmet with my rifle, she tranq the enemy (or the other way around when I tell her to shoot and when she shoots off the helmet I tranq the enemy, although this is much harder to pull off cuz I suck)

They should have given D-Horse more offensive and passive abilities. Horses have an incredibly well tuned sense of smell and hearing. He could mark enemies or creatures on the map. Also horses are quite capable of trampling people, could have added an option for d horse to attack guards and whatnot

Quiet will also knock out enemies if she runs them over while sprinting around

Really like D-walker. Really just for getting around. I don't attack with walker but its fun to use. When running you can go into aim mode and have much more better control at steering. At least on keyboard and mouse.

Swapping your buddies for D-Horse is absolutely amazing when you need to exfiltrate- just dismiss your current buddy, air drop D-horse in, whistle, then ride off into the sunset

Ironically, MGS1 provides possibly the most reasonable use of legged mecha I've come across: an all-terrain, theater tactical asset which requires a long, heavy weapon to be carefully aimed, requires a lot of power, and has heavy ammunition, which also requires rapid redeployment. I literally cannot think of any other vehicle (apart from maybe a ship) or setup which would provide the effective equivalent capacity that Rex provides. You could transport the gun using a semi, but you'd be unable to go anywhere that roads were not. You might be able to transport it using a helicopter, but that'd require some sort of setup at the other end, and you'd also need something to carry the powerplant, ammo etc, and would be pretty obvious on the move. Rex was never designed to fight an enemy directly (though why it had the other weapons is somewhat questionable), so the combat weaknesses of legs are lessened, and the ability the legs provide to alter its angle, or change its stance, or change its height, would absolutely be useful to the final product.

You can knock out enemy targets, put them on d-horses back and send them away, allowing you to escape a gunfight and later call the horse with your target on him.

I love the D walker, it saved my life during the Metalic Archea mission against the Skulls after failing it 4 times because I kept dying and my weapons were still low tier. Complete breeze when mini-gunning the assholes and got an S rank.

If you load last checkpoint it completely reloads D-walkers guns. Noticed it by accident doing fulton runs of skull face (30).

I got her, because I thought she would be good to have a sniper or something part of the stuff where we could learn a new thing. I honestly kind of ran into that mission by accident. I was going to the side missions. I then wanted to get her without killing her, because I learn I can recruit characters. So I tried tranquilizing her didn’t work. So then I realized I can send a parachute of something because at one part of the game I did that and I hit by it. So I did and I finished the mission perfectly. Then I looked up stuff and realized I can use her as a buddy.
