It would also be interesting to know the construction costs.

Hello what propeller size do you have on the Yamahas

DO NOT BUY! Absolutely nothing is "simplified" with this switch. I was very excited to get this thing because of its touted features/capabilites. In order to get it to work like it should it has to be programmed which is very non-intuitive and it WILL NOT do all of the fancy things they say it will unless you can program it properly. When you run into issues and contact them for help, they literally tell you they don't have time to help with the programming. So, unless you can figure it out, you have a VERY expensive manual battery switch - and a crappy one at that. One of my knobs has a lot of tension and drag compered to the other 4. They did tell me if I installed the unit and sent it in they'd look at it and IF they determined that switch was faulty, they'd then determine if it was replaceable under warranty, but if they determined it's NOT faulty, they'd just send it back. On top of that, because I can not get it programmed to function properly, I have to manually parallel my batteries if I want them all to charge. You'd think as much as this thing costs and with the POTENTIAL that it has, they would WANT you to have it working properly, because it would be really nice if it did, but I guess they just really don't care. Live and learn....

Nice boat, but the swimstep looked pretty cluttered? Rigging tubes as tripping hazards? And some kind of engine bracket structure just ahead of each motor isn’t quite flush?

I used to put a bit of grease on the tow ball to reduce friction.
@montyspearo27 күн бұрын
Good tips. I can't see a need to replace towballs especially on a trip but there is always a first time. Noticed you had electric boat winch. Friend uses 1:10 winch with 18V drill, works a treat on his 2500kg boat. Don't have to worry about electrics and salt water or charging 12V battery on trailer. Still has handle just in case.

Good work. Very good practical advice. Maybe some pre greased bearings in a sealed plastic bag in the spares box 🤔 Additionally, a good rule of thumb, upon return, unloading/ disconnecting the coupling on an inclined or declining parking area, ALWAYS ensure to keep your chains connected to your tow vehicle till the very end. This is to ensure your boat and trailer do not go sailing down the road or end up in your neighbours lounge room because the wheel chocks were either forgotten or not bedded in properly. Cheers.

Use bearing buddies. 20yrs and 100s of launches out one set of bearings.

Thanks for the video. Going to be terrible conditions shortly. Very strong wind on the nose, gusting 50 knots from the north west with thunder storms. Expect some retirements.

Nice boat! What are your fuel burn figures?
@bobbuilder536217 күн бұрын
Optimum cruising speed is 20-22 knots with the engine running at between 2400 and 2600rpm. At this engine speed the fuel burn is an impressive 1.7 litres per nautical mile. Even at full roar, with the engine redlining at 3600rpm, the fuel consumption is just 2.3 litres per nautical mile.

I've always been intrigued about sailing growing up around shimping and fishing boats my whole life. My uncle was supposed to teach me how to sail but before he had the chance he got what he called stuck with no wind, no gas, and no radio to call for help out in the gulf for 2 days and the CG had to bring him back in so his wife made him sale it. 😂 but I love these trailerable trihauls I'd love to own one if I knew I could get somewhere with one.

Simply put, a childish grin is not my cup of tea. Burning 20-30 gal of fuel per hour is so “yesterday” especially for an adult nowadays. Quiet cruising comfort forever instead of racing out and back to refuel. If i want speed, a lightweight racer is key. But a cruising interior with all the weight is not built for speed.
@yanassi2 ай бұрын
Why not more solar panels on an elongated roof, like solaris and other solar yachts. No need for speed, just quiet, comfortable cruising. Otherwise, i would love this for coastal and river cruising …unfortunately 1/2 million is beyond my budget. Maybe a herley 3200.

I couldn't disagree more with the previous comments. Galley down works fine, my preference in fact for boats around this size. And the layout is more than suitable. This 54 is a stunner, inside and out.

Extend the roof to accommodate 22 panels (geener) and lower the price to $200k and I’m buying. Or I’d need to win a lottery.
