How is it that you disconnect the pins with a piece of tape and it works? Doesn’t the motherboard need those pins connected to send the signals?

Thank you for this video! I’d tried everything and thought it was broken and nearly spent a lot of money on a new TV. This fixed it and the display looks exactly as it did before like nothing even broke in the first place, thanks again!

Instead of using the popular "tape" fix which takes some guesswork can't a simple JIG with a flat ribbon cable and DIP SWITCHES be used instead? This will save applying and then moving the tape until the bad traces are found.

Hi I changed power supply but half the screen is a little bit dim. My old power supply worked better than this new one. It showed more brightness on all tv but has a little bit of flickering. Why do you think the problem can be if half the tv is a little bit dim. Maybe motherboard? My other power supply has a dim spot but it was in the left side of the tv now I put a new power supply in and the dim part if on the right side. Please let me know if you can help. Thank you! 😊

I replaced both boards in my lg tv and it didn’t fix this problem. Your video saved it! Took a good 30 minutes messing around before I figured out where exactly to tape, my problem was the red connector. But we’re back up watching our tv!

I disconnected the power board from the main board, and it turns on and off rapidly with no picture, just the backlight. When they are both connected, it shows "Samsung Smart TV" and turns on and off more slowly. I have another main board from my other TV, and I tried it, and it does the same thing-turns on and off with no image, just the backlight, and it's rapid. I did try the main board on the TV that does work, and the screen stays on but with no picture, just the backlight. Any idea what it could be? My guess is it's the main board since it doesn't work on the other TV either.

Thanks for this! I also fixed my TV with this. Any explanation on why this works? What do those pins do? Why does the display work without them? Is it a digital bus that works with lower width?

Just followed the video and replacing the led strips is a easy fix. Sadly I damaged the lcd panel when applying pressure to clip the bezel back in place. Take care when clipping back into place.

Just fixed a LG (43UK6300BUB) TV this way! It ended up being the bottom ribbon cable and I covered about 12pins with some masking tape (looks like he had 15 or 16 pins covered in the video). I left 2 pins on the edge exposed as the picture quality was the most stable. If I covered the edge pins the picture lighting would fluctuate.. Thanks for the help!
