It was Ready for the Burn Pile but You Rehabilitated it and made it Usable. Adding some wood to stabilize the back was a Great idea. I think Some of Your Viewers are being a little too critical about the Quality of Your work. But You do what You can with what You've got. Where are You from?

I do chair caning and have saved more than a few antique chairs. It really is very simple, just requiring patience (and well I soaked chair caning). I don't think I will watch the rest of this post!

I appreciate the tip, I'll definitely consider that for my next chair restoration!

he didnt even wash the dirt off.....not a good job either it didnt originally have a wooden seat......and you could see grit in the varnish

This should be caned to be authentic. Why not take some refinishing lessons and do things properly?

Грустно, что небрежно ошкурено в некоторых местах и проглядывает старая зеленая краска. Очень ненадежная тонкая не укрепленная сидушка.

In the opening, you removed all the crap from the seat, then when you brought the chair home, it still had crap on it?

Sad to see this chair not restored with rattan weaving and give it the respect of originally. This video is a strong disappointment. I will not subscribe to 4th level craftsmanship.

Maybe He would, if He had the Resources. You Should see the Positive rather then just the Negative. You should watch " We Found This", If You want to see a Man Completely out of His Element when Restoring Furniture. Right Here in the USA on KZbin.

Sadly this is not a restoration, as the author states in the title. Slapping Super glue and sawdust is a bodge, as for nails, dowels should be used. However if screws are used at least sink the head down and dowel the hole to hide the screw head. Saying that they can only use what they have, is a poor excuse, there was plenty of wood in the background and the worker totally ignored the fact that the back and seat were originally woven and not cheaply covered from wood, thin foam and what looked like curtain material.

En muebleria no se usan clavos, es usa tarugos, ensambles, en brazo donde le puso 1 clavo, se usa la prensa.

Screws or dowels, never nails. Predrill pilot holes for wood Screws. Why are you using plaster board screws?

I am sure that that tool chest hss a lot of great stories to tell. Thank you for restoring it so well. Is it going back to the original family? I am sure that not only will it be put to good use but its value is also in its its history. It would be of great sentimentali value.

If you are experienced in this, then this is a failed project. You could give it a new look with minimal wood usage. You can also save wood from this table and use wood fittings instead of nails.
