At first it worked fine then suddenly when i was trying to set my timezone, it suddenly froze with blue lines. Afterwards, i tried to turn it on and just gets to the boot screen only to be met with blue and white lines then a black screen

Sounds like its a sd card problem that many are having. The original sd card that came with this console may be the problem? I had to replace my micro sd card with a brand name one and put the newest ArkOS Operating system on the new card and move all the game roms over to the new card and my problem was fixed. If that is the way you chose to go watch the video I have pinned to the top comment and it will tell you everything you need to do with the new card along with a video to watch to help you through it.

Mine would power on but it would not show the 3 console display before that itself the screen would turn dark blue and four black rectangles and in each it was written voltage lvl. Kind of sounds similar to what mine was doing. Read through all the comments here because there are some things to try people have written. None worked for me so I had to get a new name brand micro sd card and put the new ArkOS on it and move the roms over to the new card. I did put out a video on that if you look it up on my channel..

I'm having the same problem. Did you lose all the save states on your games when you updated it? I'm almost at the end of Zelda ALTTP, and don't want to have to start again.

Can you still play your r36s? For me, having a brand new sd card to set up with the newest ArkOS operating system the save states would not be there. Now if you were just updating the ArkOS without the fresh install of it on a new sd card they should still be there.. Maybe someone else would have a more in depth answer for you though?

@@retroreplay83 Thanks for the quick reply. I've just ordered a new SD card, so I will be loading everything onto that. I can't play it at the moment, as it's in the same state as yours was (white screen displaying three R36s). I did manage to eventually load it up yesterday after many failed attempts. But I've not been successful today as of yet. I might just have to keep trying it, and then leave it on standby mode until I finish Zelda.

@Dani-El. It’s very frustrating that these have all these problems! It wasn’t too difficult to set the new sd card up, took some time though to back the roms up. I’m dealing with it with the Miyoo Mini Plus I recently received, the operating system that came with it was terrible so I updated to Onion and it’s so much better.

@@retroreplay83 I managed to sort it all today. Loaded everything onto a new SD card, and it's all up and running now. My save points were still there as well, which I'm so happy about. Zelda is a looong game, so would have been devastated if I had to start from the beginning. Thanks for your help.

Hmmm, look through the comments here for some suggestions to try out to see if it may help your issue. I had to get a new micro SD Card, a brand name one, the ones that come with this console are terrible. Then I downloaded the new ArkOS operating system on the new card and transferred all the roms over to the new card.. Sorry this happened to you, so many issues with these..

Didn't even know this game existed. Perfect to play around xmas time. Theres not enough xmas games and no im not talking a out xmas skins and dlc found on the mainstream games. They dont make games like they used to.

Mine had a black screen after boot up I could hear the sound but the screen would turn off but I just hit all the buttons and it Randomly turned on after of 10mins off missing with it

@ I figured something out it still has a black screen after boot up and the sound is playing but I just press (a)a couple of times so a game plays and the screen turns on also the volume is very high so I press to lower and won’t raise pass 5% unless I do it in settings this thing is frustrating I understand retroarch a little bit but this was for my son

Tom Hanks and his brother both voiced in this game but those cinematic scenes were cut out because of copyright.. probably because they were the scenes directly from the movie?? If you watch the credits at the end all the cast will be shown.

Everything I ever find on "flashing the ArcOS" to a new card always seems to use Windows, I have a Chromebook, not Windows. My R36S is a brick, it will not boot up, I get no help from Retro Master, I feel like I flashed $105.00 down the drain. I was putting all my systems I wanted on the chip 2, I have the original rom chip for chip 1. I have no idea what to do, I had Lynx, Super Graphix, Odyssey II, Bally Midway Pro Arcade, Commodore 64, Master System, I had all this working well. then when I thought my system was off, but was resting in off screen I removed my 2 chip to put more on it and found it was on, instant brick! It is about as good as a door stop or paper weight now! I am not technical like you, I have no idea how to get it back, and I heard I would be better off with Rocknix. I haven't a clue, but I wish I could get help. I wish someone would just sell the replacement chip that I could just buy and plug into my system. That should have a hard reset switch, the software switch button doesn't do a thing to fix the problem. The original chip it came with had 20,000 games. That is another thing I tried looking on the original, apparently those roms are in the part that refuses to mount, I get a message part of this will not mount, dismiss?

I got it back, I got it back! I plugged in the charger and put back in both chips. It needed both chips since it crashed and bricked when it had both chips. For some reason the charger worked to unbrick my system. I am so happy to have it back now.

Yes.. I accidentally put it in a fast charger, and nearly destroyed the system.. to be safe use the original cable it came with, and a low voltage charger

@@abhishekmukherji2332 I just tried my console out with neo geo and didn’t have this problem. I played Double Dragon and was smashing the buttons and purposely hit the A and B buttons to try and get it to switch off but it didn’t do it for me. Not sure why yours is doing that? Wish I could help you more..

Thanks, everything you need is in the box and it comes with an HDMI Cable so you don’t need anything extra. The HDMI cable is hidden in the side styrofoam, I almost missed it.

Just letting you know, you were capped at 120hz which is half the monitors refresh rate. So maybe that’s why you didn’t feel a difference

Hmm, I see that it was at 120hz while the game was not in much motion but if you watch the Fortnite gameplay in the upper right corner it was well over 200hz and hit 240hz a few times. I know the in game settings were also set at 240hz so I don’t know how much of the video you watched but it was well over the 120hz and not capped. Thanks for your comment though because it made me rewatch the video to make sure I had things correct in the video.

@@zom6ixks You are right and I know that! I saw the 120fps in the bottom left corner and immediately thought that was what you were talking about and went with it.. Where do you see I'm capped at 120hz? the monitor has been set to 240hz since I turned it on and set it to that.

I have seen other's mention this problem without a solution so I could only suggest a new SD Card, transfer the specific files over and the roms and install the new ArkOS operating system. I did that and mine works fine now.

I have cloned the stock card to the exactly the same card model SanDisk . It seems that the arkos constantly corrupt the cards and the system then shows missed games . For example it happened to me that all games menu showed only 3000 games available out of 15000. Doing the clone again from stock card . The arkos I used was the latest version dated 27.11.2024

I have solved it by restoring the full image again on this new SD card. I found the table on the net that shows which cards are fully compatible. It seems that the Sandisk 128gb grey and red Is not . I still use it. If it happens again I will have to buy another sd card , the Samsung one seems a way to go .

What I did here is take 49 You Tube Shorts of gameplay from my completed version of the game and combine them in one video to cut out a lot of the long driving sequences and loading screens and keep most of the dialog to follow along with the storyline for a shorter version of the game. I just received a Miyoo Mini plus and am waiting for a new sd card to arrive because the one it came with is crap and the OS will be updated to Onion..

Do you have a card reader to read your Micro SD Card on a PC? That way you can look to see if the rom's are still on the card and just not showing on the Console..

Try some of the things mentioned in the comment here and if they don’t work it sounds like you will have to get a new micro sd card and install the ArkOS Operating system and roms on the the new card. That is what I had to do to fix mine and it now works fine.

Did your system come with Game Boy Games on the sd card? and just not the emulator? or no games either? Have you tried using another emulator like the Game Boy Color or Game Boy Advanced that are offered on the r36s?

@@acores377 That is really odd that the roms and emulator for Game Boy were not included with your r36s.. what I would do is get a new micro sd card, name brand one, and card reader to install the new ArkOS Operating System on it. That would give you the emulator right there. For the Game Boy Rom set alone though you would have to look around the net/you tube for some answers. If you had the full original Rom set that came with the r36s that included game boy games you could install them on the new sd card with the reader. Do you know anyone else that has an r36s?

I tried everything I could find online about this problem for an easy fix and nothing worked so I ended up buying a new Micro SD Card and Card Reader. Followed a video online on how to install the new ArkOS Operating System and move the Roms over the the new card. change both sd card is the first and easiest option find one that is working and try that out. the card come into any type of problem including stacking it onto a speaker from a pc for a few seconds can remove on week bit in right place and whammo everything is broke. good luck .

@@yannickpierreux6661 Ok, try this, Power the device on and hold the power button in while pressing UP on the volume. That was one comment to try. If that doesn't work another comment said to charge it with the cable that came with the console and try booting it up while its charging. I tried everything that I read to try and get mine fixed to boot properly but nothing worked so that is why I ended up buying a new Micro SD Card from SanDisk and the Card Reader you see in this video to read the Micro SD Card. The guys video I used to help me through this process is here.. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5qylImfqambpac&ab_channel=SjslTech I was worried when doing this all but it worked out and mine is working now. Just follow this guys step by step instructions if you end up having to do it this way.

Yes, My R36S only came with the one 64 GB Card with both ArkOS and the games on the one card. Some, like yours came with two cards. The guy whose video I followed had another video to show you how to do things if you had the two card console.

You don't need the roms on the card yet because the ArkOS system should load even if you don't have any roms on the card. If not you will have to install ArkOS again from the beginning.
