Have you thought about playing with this ox antispin in a tournament, to see how it behaves "in real life"? Because there's a difference between a friendly drill and a match in which the opponent doesn't give you the ball to play as you wish, but tries to "fool" you by any means necessary.

I would not recommend to play this setup in a tournament because you are not allowed to play inversed topsheets without a sponge according to the rules. The only possible option is to use a very thin sponge to still have a legal setup for tournaments.

Hi,I have try the same thing as you did.I find out remove the sponge cannot improve the reverse of spin . meanwhile,I buy ABS 2 , 3 and pro version, find out that the thicker sponge,the better reverse spin.that is because antispin rubber is different from long pimple rubber. long pimple rely on its pimple, so the thinner sponge the better reverse spin.antispin rubber use its thick,nonbouncy sponge to absorb energy, and the way you control the blade is also different.

@@antispinguy you should also try the Barna Super Glanti Black Edition. I think it has the max. spin reversal effect amongst all those I have tried (ABS2 soft, Gorilla, ABS3) but it is very fast as it comes in 0.7mm thickness only. I have 2 set-ups of the same rubber, one on a Dr Neubauer Grandmaster+ def blade and other on DMS Trouble All blade. The Grandmaster+ blade is quicker than the DMS blade surprisingly. Once you master that rubber, it is easy to put pressure on the opponent as it is extremely fast as opposed to ABS3 which to me is the slowest with highest control. But ABS3 somehow becomes predictable for the opponents after sometime unless you make them move with placement. But I eventually plan to play with the Gorilla again especially since being in INdia, I follow Ayhika Mukherjee closely and love the way she is able to decieve the opponents with such control using the Gorilla (1.3mm version/ non ABS). I have ABS3 on Dr Neubauer World Champion Carbon blade and Killer Extreme on the FH as my current main set-up since it allows me to block bullet topspins and attacks from high level opponents.

I started wih Butterfly Super Anti and can definitely say that ABS3 lets me keep ball on the table consistently even with an extra motion of the playing hand. I don't think it has any great reversal unless you do a good chopblock but keeps you in play for longer rallies (but I avoid getting into longe rallies as the rubber becomes predictable and opponent can finish the point easily. That is a detailed explanation. Thank You. Like you, I am concerned about getting the best setup. Current setup is Nikkatu Tenor (5 Ply wood) ST handle (84g) with MXP Hard in Max thickness on the forehand, and Grass dtecs OX on the backhand. I consulted with a high level long pips coach, and he recommended an offensive all wood blade, to make sure i have enough power to put away balls when needed. He himself uses a 7 Ply wood offensive blade. The tenor works great on the forehand. Absolutely fantastic. I have noticed though, that if someone sends a fast attacking shot into my backhand pips side, that sometimes my blocks go long and miss the table. So like you I am considering a less offensive blade, but still using the same rubber, and still avoiding carbon. Violin and Violoncello are the two i am thinking of for a possible second setup. Violin has a larger handle. Violoncello is classed as a defensive blade. I can't decide. Your video is convincing me to try the Violoncello, but I like the Violin handle better, as it might be better for twiddling.

So let me share my experience. I was like you an inverted rubber player with an extremely nice BH. Unfortunately I had a bicycle accident which injured my wrist and I thought that was the end. I actually attempted to learn with my other hand but quickly realized that would take years to master it to get to my expected level. When playing with a German friend which was using short pimples I tried them and in the same hour I won against him using his spare racket. So I decided to get medium pimples (Killer) and I was not in too much pain while making peoples's lives a living hell. Then I went to live in Austria and met a club manager who was playing anti... but I could not believe my eyes. He basically destroyed everyone up to Bundesliga level and he was already in his 50s. He had injuries on both knees but his reflexes, equipment and technique was mesmerizing. I changed and learned from him and it was a real trip, unfortunately the pandemic did not help by stopping practices. I decided to change back to short pimples and so far I am having a lot of fun with all the knowledge I accumulated. Conclusion : nobody has seen this guy play anti that way. He can kill BHs just like an inverted rubber with a technique that would leave you speechless. I am in more pain now but I realized that at a very high level, top players know how to avoid the anti "trap" and when the ball is killed into your BH out of the blue, it's very hard to time it properly. Short pimples are fun and also difficult to play against with the right technique. I still have my anti equipment which is out of the ordinary btw ! Because I can't generate my own spin, I still don't have a good strategy against passive or defending players. In this video, things went well because the opponents generated their own spin. It's difficult to play also because, not having much friction (on the forehand), I have to be much more agile than usual, and I can't pick up the balls I reach late; for the same reason, I noticed less control on almost all of my active shots.

Whenever he starts to quicken the pace with his FH, I just reset the pace by sending it to his BH. I felt that the Pips on his BH was a disadvantage for him, and might be slowing his progress. But that's just me.

@phtabletennisvlog4473 There are a simple philosophy to apply here: i'm playing well but win less or playing bad and win more... :) Sure, that's not cheating... But i like how it sounds.. :))

@@antispinguy I get your point. I was just pointing out that the advantage really depends in the player community and experience. The equipment themselves don't really have any advantage.

@@phtabletennisvlog4473 Right! But after years i understand that i never can play "as seen on tv"....so i choose the equipment according with what i can do . :)

Hey! interesting setup! what are the match results? was it difficult to adapt?
@antispinguyАй бұрын
Before that tournament I had only 2 training sessions.. So I still make unforced errors; I still have the tendencies to "generate" spin sometimes. In this video compilation I choose only the good shots, because i want people see its capabilities when it is used corectly and most of time the errors are not generates by the rubber itself but are generates bt my own lack of skill, regardless of rubber i used.... But, generally speaking, for me it was not so difficult to adapt, because in the past I played also with short pips on forehand and the stroke is pretty similar. But most difficult now is the adapt the game strategy, because with this setup I cant generate my own spin. To answer completly to your question, most of my opponents adapting after the first, or second set and finally beat me; I won only against the last one, but as you see, the setup seem to have lot of potential - especially since I played this tournament at a higher level than I usually play.

Very good analysis! A small correction. Ayhika used short pips on her forehand when she played this match and that is her current set-up. She was using medium pips (Dr Neubauer KO) couple of years ago and now using Butterfly Impartial XS on FH. She has the Dr Neubauer Gorilla antispin in 1.3 mm on her BH that she has totally mastered. The blade she uses is Dr Neubauer World Champion Carbon. Intrigued by this style, I have also recently started using a similar set-up- Same blade with ABS3 or Barna Super Glanti on the backhand and Killer Pro Evo on the FH..Its so much fun but currently I give away too many points and get many points on deception as well...Both me and my opponents at the club level are confused during matches :D. Yes, it doesnot feel at home as you would with an inverted rubber, but recovering from an ankle ligament injury, I have decided to go slow as I am getting closer to being 50 yrs old!

Thanks for infos! However, on dr neubauer's official website she still appears as a sponsored player with that configuration that I knew about... anyway, regardless of the model, the basic principle remains - and I just tried such a combination myself - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mIqcgIqclKmDgJY

@@antispinguy Yes, Dr Neubauer still has the older data. I had a conversation with Carsten Neubauer few months back and he did confirm that Ayhika is not using Dr Neubauer medium pips rubber on FH any more. Being in India, I have access to authentic data to what Indian players are using. I did see your video of this combo and it seems quite interesting. Have you tried the KO and Killer Pro Evo on FH? Which do you prefer and why?

@saurabhnavangul6691 Our supplier did not have regular ko rubber so i choose ko extreme. From reviews i understand that ko extreme is faster than ko and has more disturbing effect on active shots.. i never played with medium pips until now, this one is my first try, based on what i saw in this game.

Wow im surprised how good u use that medium pips rubber. May i know what medium pips is that and its sponge thickness?

The pips is dr neubauer k.o. extreme 2.0 mm sponge
