Ishin Kiwami has worst combat, terrible modernization, the Card System, Unoptimaztion, Censoreship and ofc Unreal Engine

Doesn't help that RGG has just been pumping the games out like an essembly line now. Don't get me wrong I love the yakuza/like a dragon series, but with games like judgement, gaiden, and infinite wealth, ishhin just got drowned in the releases. It's never a good idea to oversaturate a series you know?

The wheel and orb skill tree setup is the best ive seen in an RPG game yet, idk this was my first game in the series that i finished, i tried Yakuza 7 and didnt like it very much. I had no idea of any real history beats in the game until looking into atuff after so idk where people are getting "you have to know history" from, new game+ is super sick, if you dont like getting sucked into side quests just use the fast travel guys, yeah things are expensive but you get 200 ryo for beating the game and all the shit you collect you can sell for a lot once it all adds up, brawler/wild dancer build is some of the funnest multi enemy takedown gameplay ive played in a long time. The swords are super sick and the guns feel strong once your leveled up a good bit. I think the main thing is people are impatient and want the same atuff given to them over and over, and also people are always so horny for the sengoku period, bro you dont wanna stab your sword in a dude stomach, jump off the handle while its in him, amd shoot him three times in the face while doing a spinning a backflip? (Literally a heat move you can do in the game)

My problem with Ishin was the grind. So many things in this game were "Bring x item enough times until the bar fills up." Which just turned into sinking money into this NPC, grinding for more money, buying enough of this item, grinding for more money, upgrading your gear to keep up with the enemies, grinding for more money. You get the gist. I eventually made the decision that I'd just made sure I was geared up well enough for the last 3 chapters and ignore the rest. Which is a shame because it's like you say, some of these sub stories were good, but I just thought it wasn't worth the extra hours the game wanted from me.

As someone whos beaten most of the games in the series i can say easily that Ishin is a good game and definitely underrated, it's no where near the best in the series but its good for what's trying to do and the story it wants to tell and definitely deserves to be up there with the other great games in the series

Basically because its a spin-off that has nothing to do with Yakuza and Gaiden had more hype behind it

I've not looked at anything Ishin since i started. I'm on Chapter 8 with 85 hours invested & can't get enough, I'm not interested in onlune content due to the mystery of motives & characters so I'm happy to just not bother. I think that's a big factor for all

Substories amd filling the meter with npc was so retarded. It is a good game story and combat especially although that's not perfect too. In my opinion it's second or third worst in the series I would put it somewhere between 3 being the worst and 4. Just finished gaiden today doing a run from 0 since late December only infinite wealth left. So far my favorite games are gaiden, 0, 6, 5, kiwami 2, 7 (lad) kiwami 1, ishin, 4, 3.

I just like the turn based swap so much that I never ever want to go back.

i love this game, but then again any game that features samurai im all for it. having said that, i can tell what the disconnect is, and it's not Japan because this game is huge over there. but it's how this game is perceived in the west. yes there's no denying the gameplay is flawless, the story is good, and even the side content is decent. but it's the characters, now Kiryu given a makeover for the game is fine, but there are way too many crossovers. i can see a few characters jumping over, Kiryu and Haruka, but alot of the other characters i felt like should've been completely new characters. so the reason why this game isn't talked about as much, it has to do all the familiar characters in it. i think people can live with Kiryu and Haruka in the game, but this game didn't need people like Nishiki, Akiyama, Saijime, and the bosses from Yakuza 0. In other words, it's too Yakuza heavy. the game is popular in Japan, but in the west, people like to see new characters. other than that, the game is good. i knew his brother would end up being a problem, and that's the part i mean. it made it too obvious who the main enemies will turn out to be. Majima is a fan favorite, but him in a Samurai game setting doesn't quite fit. i really like Kiryu's design the game though, and the girl Ryoma falls for i like quite a bit.

Ishin is a amazing game, peaple quit before learn how to play, the game has a little learning curve and seens everybody get out before know how to play. Another factor is ishin is a rpg, peaple call like a dragon grindly, anyone who ever playied a rpg for once knows like a dragon isnt grindly at all ( try persona or bravely default). And for last Ishin isnt a beat and up, it is a hack and slash, what make very sense. os: Brawler style have special weapons, use it.

if you mean the recent remake it's because it sucks; it's pandering bullshit.

this is a great video man, the only criticism that i might add is that it should be a crime to make a character analysis video on majima without talking about his tattoo, it just speaks volumes about him, the deeper layers of his character, and what he stands for. other than that it is a very well put video!

I absolutely Love this game!!!! I’m at the last part and haven’t played it yet because I’ll be sad it’s over. I started playing Yakuza : Like a Dragon IW and wow it’s so different. It looks poorly done compared to Ishin and even LAD: the man who erased his name, which I also really liked. Ishin is my new favorite game!!!! I will definitely replay it as much as I do Hogwarts Legacy!!!

i'd probably get it if it wasnt so expensive, even on sale i still cant justify forking out the money for it, especially seeing as its a spin off

for people who watched and read rurouni kenshin manga and anime. they will be right at home. well these are real life historical characters but still the fact that kiryu plays saitoh from shin sen gumi and he can have a crossed scar like kenshin in costume options was a nice easter egg. also seeing all the dudes from other yakuza games playing a role of historical characters
