Thanks again Mr Whirly....Im still tring to get my Talent to function usefully, welcome any suggestions. I have 3 TailAirs and The Talent and all are successfuly connected to NDI BUT I am so far not able to record these as THREE ISO files simultaneosly from the Talent. I dont want to use The Talent to Stream or as Switcher , yet. The main reason I got it was just so I could record solo musical performances with a 3 camera angle shoot and then edit them on something like CutCam or FinalCut. When I saw both the Tails and The Talent did portrait mode I ran out and got everything I thought I needed. Unfortantely but after 40+hrs of troubleshooting im starting to doubt my decision. Any insights?

Even the 25mW was remarkably stable. I would have expected a lot more interference a lot earlier
@WhirlyBloke5 күн бұрын
It's pretty much line of sight, so with the high gain AKK antennas on the VTX and RX (which is very good) it will go a long way. But that's much the same for most VTX at 25mW until you get something in the way. High gain RX antennas are key to getting good range because the TX/RX sensitivity degrades using the inverse square law. What's noticeable is the video drops away very quickly on 25mW without much warning compared with the higher outputs. Thanks for your feedback.

Try using the original charger and a different USB-C cable or power outlet to rule out power issues. Check if the LED lights show charging, and ensure the port is clean. If nothing works, connect the goggles to DJI Assistant 2 on your PC to check firmware. Still no luck? It could be a hardware issue-contact DJI Support for assistance or a warranty replacement!

On the back of the INIU BI-B5 power supply it says. Output 1/2 DC, 4.5V=5A, 5V=4.5A, 9V=2A, 12V=1.5A. But I am using the larger USB to USB C cable that comes with the power supply. I tried plugging the charger into a AC 120v outlet with a USB adapter and it worked fine. So it must be the power supply

Hi, I bought this 608 charger and a INIU BI-B5 power supply. It charges a few small batteries and quits. I think it because of the power supply only putting out 5V. And the changer limits the input to 5V. I can't seem to change the charger to a lower input voltage. And I can't seem to get the power supply to put out more than 5v. It seem like it automatically picks its 5v output. Any ideas on how to fix this? I guess buy a different power supply. But do they all automatically pick their output voltage ?
@WhirlyBloke8 күн бұрын
Hi, thanks for your comment! It sounds like your power supply might be the issue here. The INIU BI-B5 likely defaults to 5V because it’s operating in a USB power delivery (PD) mode that doesn’t negotiate higher voltages with the ISDT 608PD charger. My first thoughts are 1. Check the power supply’s specs: Confirm if it supports higher output voltages (e.g., 9V, 12V, or more) and ensure it complies with PD standards. 2. Verify your cable: Make sure you’re using a high-quality USB-C cable capable of handling PD negotiation. Lower-quality cables can sometimes cause power negotiation issues. 3. Try another power supply: Some power supplies auto-detect the required voltage, while others need a compatible device to negotiate higher outputs. Look for one that explicitly supports PD output up to 20V and is recommended for use with devices like the 608PD. A popular choice for chargers like this is a dedicated DC power supply or a PD power adapter with adjustable voltage. 4. Consider using the DC input: If you have access to a compatible DC power source, you might bypass the issue entirely by using the DC input instead of relying on USB PD. Let me know if any of these solutions help 😊

What do you think about the fresnel zone interference making this test not very valid for drones? Bardwell points this out recently, but I am not sure I agree fully, due to a lot of drone pilots flying low cinematic long distance shots that isnt up mountains. Also sometimes I feel penetration takes a lot more power than just pushing the signal farther away, if I am correct. Thanks for this.
@WhirlyBloke9 күн бұрын
Great points! Fresnel zone interference can be a factor, but as you mentioned, many low-altitude, cinematic flights face similar challenges. Penetration often does demand more power, especially in complex environments. Thanks for sharing.

That's really odd. If you've run through my checks and it's still a problem, it maybe the BF target you've chosen is wrong which makes it sort of work but not. I suggest re-flashing the latest version of BF and double check the target you're flashing is correct. Make a note of your settings in the configurator (or just back then up) and do a full erase and flash. Restore your settings and see how it goes. Remember if you're changing to a later more recent version, your current settings may not be compatible. I hope you get it sorted and do let me know when you find the cause. There may of course, be a hardware problem on your flight controller board.

@WhirlyBloke25 күн бұрын
ELRS radios and receivers are relatively cheap, So maybe get a combo - I can recommend a diversity receiver and give it a try on a smaller, less valuable plane and see how it goes. I've got no experience of a large fixed wings, but I use the Nomad Gemini module and a quad receiver on my cinelifter with a mighty expensive payload. That and IANV are the the only things I trust on it. Primarily it's not about absolute range, more the reliability and redundancy.

Thanks, unfortunately for me nothing is working like its being presented here. Would have been so much more usefull had your cameras NOT already been tied into the NDI network and as you pointed out immediately discovered. So much is assumed because you essentially have it all up and running before you made the vid and as a result we see a flawless execution of getting NDI up and runnning . I can assure you , Ive been at this 8hrs with 4 obsbots , all the required obsbot adapters, the right Micro SD cards, an Obsbot Talent and Ethernet that is running like a charm at every juncture but NO NDI...oh well
@WhirlyBloke27 күн бұрын
I’m sorry to hear you’re having such a frustrating time getting NDI to work with your setup. I completely understand how challenging this can be, especially when everything should work on paper but doesn’t in practice. You’re absolutely right that in this video, I demonstrated a setup that was already functional to highlight the smooth integration. However, I can see how it might not have addressed the hurdles you’re facing in getting started from scratch. I’ll take your comments onboard for future videos and include troubleshooting steps or a fresh setup perspective. Based on what you’ve shared, it sounds like you’ve got everything configured correctly in terms of hardware, Ethernet, and the necessary adapters. A few potential things to check: 1. Firmware Updates: Ensure all your OBSBOT cameras are running the latest firmware. Sometimes NDI won’t initialize properly without updates. 2. NDI Discovery Settings: Double-check your network settings (e.g., multicast or static IP configuration) as these can sometimes block NDI device discovery. 3. NDI Tools: Have you tried using the official NDI Studio Monitor or NDI Access Manager to verify if the cameras are being discovered on the network? That could help pinpoint the issue. 4. Micro SD Configuration: Some users have reported that specific SD card formatting or partitioning can impact setup-worth double-checking that too. You might try contacting OBSBOT support as well. Best of luck with your setup-I’m sure you’ll get it working soon.
@thebrooklyngardenclub22527 күн бұрын
thankyou for your detailed response, I did contact obsbot but ultimately found the fix on reddit. The NDI codes could be entered on the Obsbot phone app but in my case and others apparently, NOT via Obsbot Center , desktop app. Once entered there I closed the app and the Center showed the NDI was active and NDI tools , finally , discovered them. I am not out of the woods yet apparently however because my new Obsbot Talent hasn't yet discovered them on NDI because te NDI has to also be configured on that device as well and I've yet to understand hoe. Not much avail on KZbin University about NDI and talent yet and what is available assumes I am streaming on OBS , which might happen but right now im simply trying to create multicam vids in my studio via this new NDI network
